Walked in at 8pm on a Friday with my friend. Service was terrible, passive aggressive, and I felt immediately uncomfortable and wanted to leave at that point, but once the sushi chef started preparing food I was stuck there.
Particularly from the wait staff— who seemed to be in their teens.
The kid nearly knocked over the sake glasses onto our laps while shoving things around, and a small request for getting two tiny plates to eat on became a whole ordeal.
If you don't feel comfortable serving people two hours before closing- then change your hours. Sometimes I hate my job too, but guess what— I show up and do a good job anyways. We left well before closing the instant the check was paid.
Total was $160 for some mid omakase and a small bottle of sake— not including tip. I do not recommend this place at all.

From the moment I walked in, there was a strong fish smell. The fish itself didn’t taste fresh or prepared with any craft. I was totally turned off by what I saw behind the “chef’s table”. The food prep and cleaning was done in plain sight, with people moving dirty plates to the back room. Totally unappetizing and a turn off. Gives omakase a bad name. You get what you pay for.

It's definitely a good place to try out. Service is good too beside their food. Their 18-course meal definitely need to get.

Fantastic omakase experience with great value for money! The ingredients were incredibly fresh. I especially liked the sweet shrimp and scallops. Not to mention the foi gras with salmon combination.
Miso soup at the middle of the omakase was great - perfect for a warming break to prepare for a second round of sushi. If I have to pick any fault... The dessert ice cream was mediocre.

The pictures don't do them justice. Each sushi was so good, I was tempted to have more. The staff were very nice and accommodating. The price was also affordable and well worth it. I would definitely come back here.

If you’re looking for an exceptional dining experience near Barclays Center, Koi Omakase is a must-visit. For just $69, you get an 18-course omakase and unlimited sake, all within 75 minutes. Each course is crafted with precision, offering a delightful array of flavors that keep you anticipating the next dish.
The unlimited sake perfectly complements the meal, enhancing the flavors of each course. The location is ideal, especially if you’re planning to catch a show or event nearby. The value for money here is incredible, considering the quality and quantity of food and drink you receive.

At the time of writing (Oct 2024) this is among the best "budget" omakase places. Call it an unoriginal non-seasonal glorified set menu if you want, but I call it a great deal -- good variety of fresh tasting fish, sliced generously and placed on decent rice. I found the wagyu a tad chewy but acceptable. That 18 course meal is sure to satisfy the hungriest of us, and if you are still not done, drink some of that free sake until you have to basically crawl and stumble out of this fine establishment. When their competitors are serving fewer courses at a higher price point, these guys rise head and shoulders above the rest.

My favorite Omakase spot by far
I happily took advantage of their anniversary promo, and it did not disappoint! It offered 14 pieces of sushi, soup, two pieces of your choice, dessert, and unlimited sake.
The ambiance was classy, yet welcoming. The seating is on either side of the large sushi bar, which is separated into four groups, and each group has a chef. This felt very intimate, and special. I loved watching our food being thoughtfully prepared!
With so much creativity going into every piece, they were all unsurprisingly tasty. Some of the fish melted in your mouth like steak, others were equal parts sharp and fresh. It was a very delightful both times I visited Koi.
I also appreciated their substitutions for my eating restrictions. I didn’t feel like I missed out on the two pieces I couldn’t eat, because mine were amazing.
The servers keeping everyone’s sake full did an incredible job as well. Wait staff was quick, friendly, and attentive.
Overall, the food, ambiance and team made for an unforgettable dinner experience. I will definitely be back!
