Wow what a great meal! Everything was fast and fresh. I came in and asked for any soup they had. Loved my meal, everyone was so sweet. A great hole in the wall spot- prices are amazing for the amount of food you get. I paid $19 for this and took a lot of leftovers home. I will absolutely come back again. $3 for fresh, homemade tacos and tortillas. You can't beat that. Not a lot of seating tho! But such a casual, family atmosphere- I really enjoyed myself.

It’s not fair that I give 5 stars to all grocery/taco stand combinations. It wasn’t fair to give every liquor store in Cali with a taco truck in the parking lot 5 stars either. Don’t care. These are my favorite thing. La Abuelita is one of the best places like this I’ve visited. My burrito was smallish by Mission standards with a lot of rice %wise. The rice, like all the fillings in my burrito, was excellent. Chicken was amaze. Burrito was served with a squeeze bottle of the house green hot sauce. It was tasty with a modest kick. I’d have loved a salsa bar but it doesn’t detract from this place. Seating is tight. I have to admit that I was very jealous of everything everyone was eating around me. The Sopas look next level. Nachos were food porn along with the tacos. I don’t experience envy with a burrito in front of me ever so this is my highest praise. This little gem far away from my NYC activity base, is going in my NYC rotation. Can’t wait to try the soup

Went into to order tamales verdes de pollo, these were one of the worst ones I’ve tasted. It’s my first time coming here because of the rating I had faith. But truly, left unsatisfied.
The tamales were bland, tasted like cardboard and barely had salsa verde. The green sauce you see on top is the only sauce it came with and even the sauce tasted bitter. I ordered 4 tamales and they were all disappointing.
The whole tamales were watery as well. Please do better to keep the integrity of the meals you are serving.

Real hidden gem - some of the best tacos in the area, $4/pop. Got two pastor & 1 carne asada. Excellent, no frills tacos- and all came with generous amounts of guac.

Super good , well priced , seasoned well and good portions ! Would totally come back again ! I got the burrito w/ carne and I appreciate they were open late since I had just come out of work . It’s a very humble little spot and the workers were super nice. - born and raised NYer

I waited over 40 minutes for my food, only to see someone who ordered after me served first. Another customer left because of the long wait. As a chef, I noticed poor organization. Last time I visited, they sent out burnt chorizo tacos, which shows a pattern of inconsistency. This place has potential but needs better management and quality control.
