Betsy and the staff at La Gran Via bakery are amazing at what they do! They will replicate any picture you send them. I’ve ordered cakes from them for years, traveling from far to do so. Their cakes are amazing and their prices are reasonable!

This place has some workers who are antisocial. It's what the customer asks for and she wants to give them what they want. The bad thing about this is that those who lose customers are the owner, not the worker, she who receives her payment without problem.

I have been getting my cakes from La Gran Via since my son turned one, he just turned 13 and still come from Westchester to Brooklyn to get my cakes. Anything your imagination comes up with they will do and if sometimes it’s not possible the way you want it, they come up with creative ways to give you the cake of your dreams. Not only are the cakes aesthetically pleasing, they are DELICIOUS!! I always get tres leche with guava filling and sometimes, when I am feeling extra indulgent, I get dulce de leche as well. I will never stop going to La Gran Via, they have been a part of all of our special celebrations.

Ordered a tres leches cake for a birthday party and it was absolutely delicious! The cake was moist without being drowned in cream and it came with a soft dulce filling. The icing was very soft and the cake held up well for a few days in the fridge since I couldn’t resist taking leftovers. La Gran Via has been a neighborhood staple for a while and always recommend it.
On a separate note, I find it a little odd that after a certain time at night, if you go to the bakery, you have to order through an intercom and make the food/money exchange through a slot. I assume this has to do with crime they’ve experienced but this is the only place that does it from what I can tell. I guess just something to be aware of if you plan on going for a late night snack.

When I was little & the weather was nice out my mom used to walk from Red Hook all the way to La Gran Via . Majority of our birthday/event cakes came from La Gran Via ❤️ never disappoints. Im 30 yrs old now and whenever we are in the area we stop by to grab a tres leches cake or treats. My daughter loves the Elmo and Cookie Monster cupcake they had the other day. Definitely worth stopping by !

They made my birthday cake exactly how I wanted it. I’m so happy
The worst experience I have ever had in a bakery, if I could give zero stars I would, I ordered a cake and I was specific in color and even provided an image of how I wanted it and asked if they could do it and they said yes, at the time of delivery When I picked it up, they gave me a totally different cake, the cake was simply horrible, the color I had ordered was beige and they gave me a melon-colored one. The cashiers from the beginning were very unsympathetic, and at the time of the claim they didn't even apologize, they just They demonstrated the lack of professionalism and honesty that their workers have, if you really want advice, do not spend your money or time there since even if the mistake was theirs, they will not return the down payment money, they will only give you the option of deducting $10 dollars since according to that is their policy.
Best 3 leches I ever tasted

I know this bakery since the 80’s,good pastries.
Lots of sweets. And cakes. All baked fresh, plenty of friendly, hard working employees aiming to please, small, clean store. Hard to park. But it’s all yummy.
