Food was extremely overpriced. $25 for 3 scallops that were unsalted. Steak and potatoes were ok but was still $39 for not that much food. Service was great though, very friendly server.

My bf has never had Spanish food before so I took him to La Macha, a tapas bar in Williamsburg serving up authentic Spanish classics.

It is indeed a cute date spot as the tables are spread out and the atmosphere is intimate. As a tapas bar, their food portion is generous and good for sharing. Excellent service and incredible cocktails.

*Croquetas $14 **
They had chicken or cod fish croqueta for the day and we picked the latter. Coated with thin crispy breadcrumbs, the cod fish filling was buttery and the aioli on top was a great addition to flavor.

*Colifor $15 ***
WOW I was recommended to try their crispy cauliflower and it blew my mind!! I'm not a veggie person but I could clean this plate with the aioli. It also served as a palate cleanser between tapas.

*Skirt Steak $37 ***
A must get for steak lovers. I was so amazed by the lean-to-fat ratio and the meat was perfectly cooked with a pinkish center. The chimichuri granted the steak a nice herbal aroma. I am still dreaming about their skirt steak.

*Pulpo a la Parrilla $24
The octopus was smoky and beautifully plated, though we found it slightly too charred and overcooked.

*Paella de Mariscos $56
The paella took around 30 minutes but it was worth the wait. It came with lots of assorted seafood like mussels, clams, shrimps and squids. The portion was more than enough for two and we had to pack some leftovers home.

*Churros con Chocolate $10(?)
The churros were made to order. It came with three chopped slices with chocolate dip on the side. Portion was on the smaller side, yet it was still a nice treat after a filling meal. Crunchy and rich dessert.

Their cocktails were outstanding. They invited us to try their signature Pasion Española ($16) and it was a great tropical flavor combo!!

For starter the ambiance is cozy, the music is appropriate as the name. Second, love the bar setup and the drinks being prepared there surpass your expectations, delicious, we had Tempranillo and res sangria plus some cocktails. Third the food. the tapas delicately and savory, the perfect picture for your eyes as the flavors explode with every byte, we had pan con jamón y tomate, croquetas de bacalao, pulpo, Brussels sprouts, y gambas al ajillo plus paella de Maríscos. And last but not least, the service, attentive, and cordial. Love this place and so happy we found it!

Good vibe and great service, but the portion size, price point, and tastiness of food are all pretty disappointing.

Food does not stand out at all and the portions are tiny and overpriced. Also the service was bad (had to ask for utensils, napkins, and water). The tip was automatically set to 20% even though we were a group of 5 and they tried to double tip us on a $400 bill. 2 stars because at least the waiters were nice

It’s a very nice, cozy place. I went with my boyfriend’s family to dinner on Sunday, everything on the menu was delicious but the portions are incredibly small, I wanted to try the Paella for first time and it was a total disappointment. No good.

The service was incredible, there was only one guy making the drinks, taking orders and running the food and everything was done very well, excellent work. I hope they make improvements to the menu and their portions to be able to return :)

I was walking around the area and it caught my eye the neon sign La mancha tapas bar I decided to go, I was surprised. It was full on a Saturday night. I sat at the bar and I ordered a steak and a few tapas.
the grilled octopus was one of my favorite, the starter was excellent.
I ordered some cocktails the passion española and espresso martine recommended. Now on it has become my favorite place.

I am not one to leave a bad review but this feels necessary. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY!!! This place is clearly a front and the couple walking by after we left also confirmed. It was dead on a Friday night which we took pause in but because of all the raving reviews we decided to give it a shot. Little did we know… the portions were tiny and not regular tapas small - it’s $18 for 6 extremely mediocre and miniature shrimps and one skinny little piece of bread. We got the starter bread, shrimp, meatballs and shishito peppers. All straight from the freezer with no depth of flavor or interest what so ever. Worst $70 I’ve spent.

It’s been a while since we sat down to enjoy different tapas, and that summer Saturday night was the perfect time for it.

La Mancha tapas bar restaurant boasts a two-storey venue. During our visit, the front door of the restaurant was wide open, and we felt like we were dining al fresco even though we were indoors.

We chose to sit at a communal table right at the front of the restaurant. The menu is one page and easy to understand. We started with a bottle of Sauvignon Blanc and ordered a few tapas such as:
- Albodigas: meatballs in a light tomato sauce
- Chorizo ala Diablo: flambéed spicy pork sausages
- Tortilla Española: classic potato omelette
- Paella Valenciana: bomba rice with chicken and chorizo

All dishes arrived in a timely fashion, and we felt well looked after during our meal. The tapas were good, but the paella was just fine. We thought we had tried better paella elsewhere.

Overall, it was worth trekking to Metropolitan Avenue for a Spanish tapas experience.

This was one of the WORST dining experiences I've had in my life. Read ahead to hear about their shady and illegal business practices. We showed up shortly after opening and sat at the bar. They have happy hour everyday and so we took advantage. We started off with a drink each and a tapa - tortilla espanola was enjoyable and he enjoyed the pan con tomate. After we finished the first round, we decided to order the Galician gin & tonic which comes with one of my favorite gins in the world - Nordes gin. Since we were sitting at the bar, I could see everything the bartender was doing. I watched as he poured some random bottle of gin and then, with his bare hands, continued to try and push a huge ice cube into a wine glass. He served us the drinks and I could tell upon first taste that it wasn't Nordes (not to mention that I literally watched him put some trash gin into the glass). He appeared to be busy so I didn't get a chance to call him out on his error and that's when someone else came over to inquire about our drinks. I explained how we didn't receive Nordes gin and so the bartender was asked about it. He the tells me, in a snarky way, that I should have told him and then insults my intelligence by claiming that the THREE BOTTLES of Nordes on the shelf are "all empty" -- wow, you must think I was born yesterday. He probably didn't realize he was speaking to someone whose father is from the very area in Spain that the gin is from, either. We then declined the gin and tonics and ordered wines and two more tapas. We proceeded to wait an entire half hour for Patatas bravas and Croquetas - are you kidding me? Not one person checked on us until someone else - a woman - approached us and actually asked us if we were waiting for food. We told her we were and we continued to wait. At this point, we were frustrated and upset and asked for them to cancel the order. She decided to give us the food regardless and charged us only for the wine. That's fine and all, but the outright lies and deception of the bartender, the lack of concern for the wait for food (seriously, a half hour for potatoes) -- it was just deplorable and seemed purposeful. As someone with proud Spanish lineage, this establishment was an insult and a sad excuse for a respected tapas restaurant. I'll never set foot in here again and I warn everyone that you are likely getting charged premium prices for well liquors! Keep your eye on the bartender and see for yourself.
