I placed a food order on UberEats. In the description I wrote “Nut allergy.” When picking up the order I asked again whether any of the food items contained nuts. I believe I asked twice, as I try to be very cautious Both times I was told there were no nuts. I left La Merced and ate the first sandwich I had ordered, which was delicious. I then ate most of the second sandwich but stopped eating it, since I began to feel symptoms of an allergic reaction. I opened the sandwich up and saw that sprinkled on top of the hummus were crushed pistachios. I called the restaurant to ask if the hummus sandwich had nuts. “Oh,” the man said who picked up, “yes.” He then added, “I thought you meant almonds.” I had never once mentioned almonds to him (I happen not to be allergic to almonds). After hanging up, I promptly stabbed myself with an epi pen because I was going into anaphylactic shock and then went to the hospital. Please take allergies more seriously! I was lucky that I was close to my apartment where I had an epi pen, but these can be matters of life and death.

La Merced is a tiny Brooklyn gem with HUGE flavor. Fresh juices, amazing coffee, and healthy food that somehow tastes like a treat. The vibe is warm, the owners put real love into everything, and you can taste it. If you live anywhere near here, you need to try this spot.

This place is absolutely amazing! The owner Ricardo, has customized the entire menu to fit everyone’s needs and taste buds, which I can appreciate as well as everyone else, I’m sure. To name a few of my favorite menu items : The Red Velvet Smoothie (add protein powder and almond milk), The Peanut Butter Toast (omg) — The Merced Sandwich(add shrimp!!) Game changer trust me! The Guacamole was(no longer on the menu) incredibly fresh too, I also like The Horchata Latte. Basically, everything is delicious! And prices are reasonable, too! The place is very welcoming, featuring vibrant colors and artwork as well. Go check it out on your next lunch break! You won’t regret it! 10/10 stars.

I Asked for the most strongest detox drink there for me and my partner .when i got home it taste like they poured water into it.my spouse had to add lemon etc .2 large cups (really medium sized) for 23 dollars.They need to taste their juices before they serve.
