La Trafila is an absolute gem for anyone who loves real Italian pasta. From the moment you step inside, you can feel the passion and precision behind every strand of pasta they produce. This isn’t just a pasta shop — it’s a celebration of Italian tradition, texture, and taste.
What sets La Trafila apart is their dedication to freshness and authenticity. Every shape, from the delicate tagliolini to the perfectly ridged rigatoni, is crafted with care using traditional bronze dies (trafile in Italian — now you get the name!). The result? Pasta that holds sauce beautifully and cooks to perfection every time.
Whether you’re a home cook, a chef, or just a pasta lover, this place is heaven. Their seasonal specials are creative and delicious — think truffle-infused tagliatelle or pumpkin gnocchi in the fall. And the team? Incredibly knowledgeable, friendly, and proud of their work, as they should be.
La Trafila is a rare find in New York: a place where quality, tradition, and innovation meet. Once you try their pasta, there’s no going back.

Great any night of the week. The pasta is just a step above anything else out there. Highly recommend.!
Wow La Trafila has the best pasta I have tasted. It’s so authentic and fresh! My favorites are the Black Squid Ink Linguine, the Black Truffle and Parmesan Gnocchi. You also have to get the Truffle &Parmesan sauce! The pasta looks and taste amazing!
All of the fresh pasta is superb, but the gnocchi are amazing--not your typical tough, doughy gnocchi but soft, light, and airy "pillows" that after rising to the surface of the boiling water and being cooked briefly in a butter sauce float in your mouth delivering texture and flavor unlike any gnocchi I have ever had (especially those with a black truffle and parmesan filling). La Trafila is a must stop at the Chelsea Farmers'/Green Market.
Love the pasta. It tastes great and cooks in 2-3 minutes. Perfect for the summer.
Fresh pasta has become part of my diet every week ! There is always a wonderful variety every week and I’m always given delicious recipes. Becca is kind and very helpful when I cannot decide what I want ! Trafila is one of many awesome vendors at the Chelsea Farmers Market.

I mean their pasta is just unreal. The pastas, the sauces, the desserts, every single time I make an order. So great!
Just had their stuffed gnocchi, what an experience! I really wish they could open something closer to me in Astoria! :)
Please note this is not a retail location - this is their factory. You can sometimes order online and pick up here but that option is often not available on their website.
I’ve had two dinners delivered and could not be more pleased. I will definitely order again. I highly recommend!
The pasta is awesome, but my god, that truffle sauce they make… Incredible.
