I got a carrot cake and red velvet cake from the union market and they both taste delicious!
Our wedding picnic cakes were delicious! We ordered well in advance and had no problem picking them up. The flower decorations were pretty! Thanks so much!
The chocolate cake is so rich and sweet. It’s amazing. Very much recommend.
Five stars for the tarts whose crisp crust and luscious fillings are - or were - irresistible. But I'm done. I am not buying expensive bakes only to be treated like an unwelcome guest. The younger woman behind the counter resents your presence. It's not just a lack of basic service-industry courtesy, it's borderline hostile. Either her working conditions are so awful she can't be bothered to be professional (hi, thank you, good bye), or the owner leads by example and tolerates this. And it's usually the latter. And some business tips, because they need to attract customers: 1. Be nice 2. Switch out the cold light bulbs for welcoming warm ones. 3. No one can see in from outside through the messy paint on the windows - take it off, show passing potential customers what is inside! 4. Illuminate the tarts so everyone can see the top layer. They are in the dark. 5. Make signs for the tarts - not everyone knows their names and no one likes being eye rolled when they call them by the wrong name. Good luck.
This cake was an insult to my taste buds and a disgrace to the word celebration. The sponge was so dry I thought I was chewing on drywall—if drywall had less flavor. Each bite stole the moisture from my soul. And the icing? Don’t even get me started. It was like someone spackled the top with concrete, then sprinkled it with the tears of disappointed children. It didn’t melt in your mouth—it fought back. Tasted like dry regret and stale disappointment.
Whoever made this needs to be banned from touching flour ever again. I’ve had better cake in my nightmares. Actually, I’ve had better cardboard. Happy birthday? Nah. This was a hate crime in frosting form.
Nothing no where else compares to their Brooklyn Black Out cake. We get it for every special occasion and gift it as well. Their mini cupcakes are always a hit as well. Everything we have had from them is top tier.
Good coffee, good scone. No one was rude to me. Having a hard time believing the other reviews considering this neighborhood is full of entitled, self-absorbed trust fund babies with bad taste.
The pink velvet cupcake was dry and the frosting was somewhat gummy.
The red velvet cupcake was dry and the frosting was like hard glue sitting on top of the cake. The frosting was inedible. When I tried to take a piece of the frosting off with my finger, it separated completely from the cake, and the whole piece of frosting stayed together like a a piece of art.
Certainly a Brooklyn staple. The best birthday cakes are made at this establishment. I have been purchasing birthday cakes from here for almost a decade now. Brooklyn Blackout cake is a must for chocolate lovers. Their carrot cake is divine.
Great BK blackout cake, however poor unfriendly service.

Ladybird Bakery is hands down my favorite bakery in NYC. I’ve been enjoying their sweet treats since I was a child and their Brooklyn blackout cake is truly out of this world. Perfectly sweet, rich, & moist with the most beautiful decorative details. I was surprised with one this Valentine’s Day and like always, it was absolutely divine. You simply have to try the chocolate cake or any other delicious desserts. You won’t be disappointed.

Love, love, love this place! Such a positive chill atmosphere! Had a glass of wine and an order of bao buns. They were delicious! Crispy pork belly, delicious bbq sauce and the pickled veggies and cilantro, perfect combination! What a great way to spend the afternoon!

I visited this bakery, rumored to have ties to the now-closed Two Little Red Hens on Manhattan’s Upper East Side. Unfortunately, the experience was disappointing. The cupcakes had overly sweet frosting with a gummy texture (not fresh!) and the tables were not clean, detracting from the overall atmosphere. A big disappointment.

Had a very good blackout cake. Why open a bakery within a few doors away from the good Regina bakery??
