Unfortunately, our experience at this restaurant was not good. The cheese served in the small cast iron was extremely bland, overly oily, and tasted cheap. I ordered the branzino, but the fish had a strong propane flavor and was honestly inedible, so I had to return it. My husband ordered the steak, which was the only decent item we had, and we ended up sharing it. After we finished, the server asked if I wanted to order something else, but by then I had completely lost my appetite. Between the food and drinks, the experience was disappointing overall. We won’t be returning. A little more respect and care for your customers would go a long way.

Lamonte has been like a second home to me for years. The cozy atmosphere and diligent attention to detail is what has kept me coming back. You can notice right away the staff treat each other like immediate family and they will look out for you the same way, delicious food, very impeccably curated cocktails. There is something for everyone here. 11/10

Lamonte is like the boyfriend you always wanted. Beautiful atmosphere, the service made me feel like we were long term family. The beef stew knocked me on my seat. Happy hour is the best for martinis and oysters (clean and fresh) will definitely make this my regular location

WOW. Came here for Christmas dinner, we were pleased. From our very kind and accommodating server, to the drinks from the bar, to the music and lighting….the star of the show was the Milanese and Cesar salad. DONT skip dessert.

Smaller size restaurant. Food was very good. While our server was friendly and polite, he was not attentive. Party of 5, with a fairly reservation. So when we arrived not many tables were filled yet. We placed our order and tables who arrived after us were served before us. Server apologized and said everyone arrived at once. He also forgot to put in our post dinner drink order which was comped; nice but still ong wait.

Just had one of the best burgers I have ever had anywhere at this place. I am visiting from Fort Lauderdale and popped in after spending a day in Manhattan and needed something to eat. The people that own this place could not be friendlier and the waitress who served us could not be nicer. Beyond the hamburgers, we had empanadas that were unbelievably tasty. From now on when I come to Brooklyn this is where I’m coming to eat.

My first impression was terrible. The young guy in the white T-shirt in the attached photo clearly looked unhappy that we arrived before last order. He obviously didn’t want us to order any food. (If that’s the case, why set the last order at midnight?) Despite many open seats, we were led to an uncomfortably small table. He spilled water from the red bottle but didn’t bother to wipe it up, and even though the menu got wet, he didn’t bring a new one. I almost wanted to leave right then — it was the worst start.
That said, the oysters were excellent, the steak sauce was exquisite, and the wine was great. The other staff members were wonderful, but because of the bad impression at the beginning, I won’t be returning.

The vibe is on point always surrounded by beautiful people. Food & drinks are delish. Totally recommend.
We had a reservation for a party of 10 at 7:45 PM to celebrate my wife’s birthday. We arrived at 8:03 due to heavy traffic, and the reservation had already been canceled. There’s no phone number to contact the restaurant, and no one reached out to confirm before giving our table away, even though they had all my booking details.
I understand that timing matters, but a quick text or call would have made all the difference — especially when there’s a $20 no-show fee per person. With a party of 10, the likelihood of us not showing up was clearly very slim. Instead, our night was completely ruined. Really disappointing for such a special occasion. My friends and I will never come back here again, and I hope management improves communication so other guests don’t have the same experience.
***FOLLOW UP / RESPONSE TO THE OWNER BELOW***
First — it’s really basic hospitality to send a quick text or call to confirm before canceling a large reservation, especially for a special occasion like a birthday dinner. Your restaurant isn’t a huge operation, so it’s hard to understand why a quick follow-up wasn’t possible. We were about 15–20 minutes behind due to NYC traffic, and we did show up. If you had listed a phone number I'd have definitely given a heads-up, but you made that impossible. So a simple courtesy message from you would have completely avoided all of this.
Second — after all that, you even had the audacity to charge me $160 for a “no-show.” I was there, spoke to you and you told me directly that there would be no charge, yet the fee was still processed.
It’s extremely disappointing, especially considering the circumstances and the special occasion. Between the lack of communication, the way the situation was handled, and now an unjustified charge....this has been one of the most frustrating dining experiences I’ve had in NYC.
