I love LaMonte! I think the atmosphere is amazing and it’s a great vibe for a first date or to bring a friend who’s in town visiting. Conveniently off the L I love going here after work. We loved it here! At first, we felt rushed. It was a busy Saturday night. I have allergies and didn’t feel like the waiter was able to handle my concerns.
Eventually, the chef came out, detailed the recipe to make sure I felt comfortable, and even joked around with us. Meeting the chef adds a personal touch, and reveals the heart of the kitchen.
This is so rare in NYC, and really makes the world of a difference for someone with allergies....

Carla our waitress was amazing. my wife wanted empanadas, which was served only during dinner but she went out of her way to see if an exception could be made. Food was amazing, from the fried chicken, cheese burger, appetizers and empanadas. Highly recommend this restaurant, ask Carla to be your server.
