We ordered a small portion of pickled fish for several people, but were still treated sarcastically and told that this was enough and why did you care so much about your money? The meal cost over 60 dollars. We have been eating at 8 Avenue for a long time and this is the first time we have to pay extra for rice. Is the boss not making any money?
I’m Chinese from the Sichuan region. Spoiled with many good food growing up, I find many popular Chinese restaurants in NYC a scam. But this is my favorite restaurant in the neighborhood (or even my favorite Chinese in the whole city in terms of price and quality ratio). We come here twice or three times a week. Really delicious spot in Brooklyn to eat authentic Fuzhounese cuisine! It’s down to earth and family owned businesses so it might seem lackluster to outsiders but that’s not the case at all! The prices are unbeatable— tip is not required so it’s mostly self served but the staff is friendly and helpful. The food comes out so fast— less than 10 minutes after we ordered our first dish came out fresh and hot from the stove top.
