I have been going here for a few years. I always cone here for the strawberry shortcake ?. It's delicious. If you call a day in advance, the cake is fresher. You will not be disappointed.
I would give it a 5 if it wasn’t for the staff behind the counter. They routinely ignore you waiting to place an order. After waiting several minutes today, one of them took an order from a guy who came in way after me!!! One Sunday I finally just left because nobody even acknowledged me. Their prepared foods are amazing and they have a lot to pick from. They have a nice ginger lemon iced tea that I love and their yogurt parfaits are amazing too! The ladies in the pastry area are very nice as is the woman at the counter. A great neighborhood place.

By far! By really really far the very best black and white cookie known to man. It's more like a thin super soft cookie/ cake with chocolate frosting and vanilla frosting. No hard as rock sugar frosting here kids !I've had dozens from dozens of places. I'm taking a train from Westchester to Brooklyn again to bring 12 home for the holidays. Ahhh what's 5 hours round trip for the best ever ! ?Oh and the Linzser Tart is in the same category absolute fire

I purchased 3 cakes in the last week. All red velvet. They were so good. I recently was recommended this place but my coworker. The service gets 4 starts because the second time I purchased a cake, I asked for a cake cutter and the manager was rude. Here’s what happened. I asked for a cake cutter and the lady who helped me said that there was no more before even looking. I told her that someone went upstairs a few days ago when I requested one and grabbed one for me. She came downstairs with one and while she was upstairs,I purchased the cake. She then said I had to pay for it after I already made my purchase of the cake. I was confused by this because previous to this purchase I was given the cake cutter for free after I asked. I was not going to swipe my card again for a $2 cake cutter and the manager got involved and rudely said no that I had to pay. I explained that I bought the cake a few days ago and I wasn’t charged for the cake cutter. Mind you this is a huge cake so I’m not understanding why it’s not customary to provide a cake cutter with the purchase of the cake. Nonetheless I was not happy with how he was talking to me and refuse to give my service to anyone treating me that way. I kindly requested a refund but he ended up giving me the cake cutter and stated that for the future, I would have to pay. That’s understandable but he didn’t have to be rude. I am a medical provider and work long hours. I was coming from work and tired and didn’t appreciate that treatment. Other than that, the cake is wonderful!

Must have walked by this place many times and never bothered to enter. That was rectified today. Ordered a promenade sandwich, a rustic apple and grabbed a premade chicken curry wrap. Took the pups for a walk on the promenade. Everything was delicious.

The plastic they use to wrap the candy apples sticks to apple like glue. I was unable to remove. Waste of money. Whatever they use to coat the apple left my hands stained in red dye.
I love Lassen, but I'm extremely certain that this location is playing fast and loose with how much they charge (I can only speak for the one on Montague).On two consecutive days, I've been charged over $5 more than the subtotal of my items. Even including tax, the numbers don't add up. I brought this to the attention of the cashier, who said that on credit card charges, an additional 3.8% or so is added (I wasn't aware of this). But guess what- even when I include that, plus the tax, I was still overcharged. And on top of that, they added about $1.50 for a "tech" fee (whatever that is).I'm not saying don't go here- I love the prepared meals and they have my favorite pecan pie. But please be careful about what they're charging you- they are not shy about being dishonest.

The sandwiches are absolutely amazing! They really take their time to make them with utmost care. I asked them to make a Reuben which wasn't on the menu and I've eaten one a few days in a row now! This morning I tried their coffee! Wow just wow,.. I'm actually heading back there now to get another one! Which is perfect t because i just got a coffee rewards card from them! Jippie ! Also the manager and the staff is super nice and friendly! No wonder it's always busy!

Quick and easy place to grab a bite on your lunch break. I got the chicken noodle soup, a mango tea, and a berry parfait. It wasn't like revolutionary or anything, but good enough. I really loved the classically Brooklyn interior, so warm and cozy inside. I want to come back and try their hot foods bar, their sandwiches seem to be the staple here.
