The best fish and grits I have had with in forever!! A must have for brunch!
Lila’s Cafe ambiance is wonderful. The hospitality is great. While in the establishment you’re treated like family.
Happy hour drink specials
Lila Cafe is a small restaurant with a bar. Server could have been better. Seem to perturbed because she was asked what's going on with the food. Place wasn't busy for a Saturday evening. However, it still took 40 minutes for 1 entree and 1 appetizer to come to the table. The appetizer was full of grease and inedible. Missing ingredients like white rice or rice and peas for the entrees which is why the appetizer was ordered. Drinks made weren't the best. Probably not going to return to this venue.
Amazing food, awesome service and atmosphere!
Loved everything about this place. From the big smile that greeted us at the door to the last bite of dinner, it was a pleasure. I can recommend the spicy empanada, shrimp and plantains, the jerk chicken, the fried chicken, and the stir frys. Everyone in our group of 6 was thrilled
We had a most gracious hostess. She took really good care of us. The food was pretty good. I enjoyed my rum punch. I would definitely go back.
The food and atmosphere was on point. The only suggestion I would make is have more options for brunch or make appetizers available @brunch. It was 12:30 and a sista wanted some wings! But I digress, The food, the price and ambiance is worth it
The food and entertainment were definitely on point; however, I was a bit disappointed when there was no seating readily available despite me making a reservation.
I made reservations to experience Lila Cafe on Valentine's Day. I anticipated an evening of great food, ambiance and live music as advertised. It's always my pleasure supporting black businesses however too frequently patrons such as myself run into common issues with such businesses; lack of quality communication while acting as liaison between patrons at the dinner table and the kitchen staff. My table attendant was amazingly warm upon my arrival. The artist on the mic sounded great, the ambiance perfect for a day of love. When seated it was explained that my date and I would receive a complimentary glass of champagne. We waited so long we had to ask our waitress for the glass. She said one moment, one moment turned into 5 more minutes of waiting after having waited almost 30. We ordered our appetizer which took an hour to get to us. Then we waited almost 30 more minutes for our entree. While waiting both the table to the left and right of me we in agreement it was their first and most certainly last time they would come to this restaurant. To make matters worst after waiting 90 minutes for our entree, when it finally arrived, it wasn't hot, an item was missing and it didn't feel at all, worth the wait. There were only 2 waitresses working the floor. All service moved extremely slowly. I was so disappointed and extremely apologetically to my date. The best part of the evening was the singer and two band members. Otherwise, it's rather unfortunate how poorly this place is being managed.

Went for a birthday brunch. Our server was great and drinks were excellent. Food orders were taken quickly, however it was a long wait before we actually received our food and some of the orders were mixed up. For the steak and eggs, the steaks (and potatoes) were too salty. We tried a lot of options from the menu and overall the other meals were good. We would go back, but probably not for steak and eggs.
First of all the greeting as we entered was very welcoming, they made us feel at home, and it only got better from there. I had a sorrel monitor which was excellent, the cod fish fritters were on point, and my Rasta pasta with chicken, was delicious, my date had the escovitch and could not stop raving about it. We can't wait to go back for Brunch!
this was by far one of the worst experiences i ever had at restaurant. the waiter was very nasty and rude to me. They served me raw food for my starter. my entree was cold, the rice had NO flavor! total waste of my drive from Queens. If they want to stay in business there is a lot that needs to be changed. also the online menu was NOT accurate!
I came here recently for Saturday Brunch with my mom! I made reservations on Opentable because I wanted to make sure we could get a seat. We were greeted upon entering the restaurant by the owner or manager. She was a very polite and kind. We were the only people that was seated at a table but they had two guys seated at the bar. After being seated our waitress and bartender Kym came to greet us at the table and I asked her what was in the Caribbean Painkiller. Being that she is the bartender she told us she would have to figure out what was in the cocktail. Kym took about 11 minutes to figure out what is in the cocktail and she read it off a notepad. She then went back to make it for me but came back because they were out of one of the ingredients. My mother and I eventually ordered the Guinness Punch and Lila's Dirty Sorrel they were both different yet delicious. We ordered the Cheddar Cheese Grits with Whiting and the Fried Whiting with Cassava Fries. This place is very generous with the portions. Both meals were delicious and seasoned very well. I think they just need real hot sauce or pepper sauce they only had sriracha as an option. All Brunch Entrees are served with a complimentary Mimosa - you cannot beat a free cocktail with your meal! The noise level in the restaurant was outstanding amongst the servers and the two customers they had sitting by the bar. I could hardly hear myself talk at my table. They have to work on just how friendly they are when they have paying customers around. They also need to take into consideration the inventory before the restaurant opens. It would make everything run alot smoother. I would definitely return to this restaurant when I am in the area.
Lila Cafe is a welcome addition to this Brooklyn block. It's already evident that we will be regulars, and we've have already found our favorite dishes on this menu that caters to even the pickiest-pallets: I'd be remiss if I don't mention the codfish fritters, coconut shrimp, healthy portions of oxtail, Rasta-Pasta, or the 5 cheese baked Macaroni & Cheese. Don't listen to me....try it for yourself. Great decor and ambiance (pronounced: Anh-byahns).
