I'm a bit of a European coffee snob, so being able to have that experience replicated in Brooklyn was incredible. L'Insolent coffee was equal to those I've had all over Europe, with delightful barista art, and a calming interior that was elegantly welcoming. Went a few times soon after they opened, and had the best iced mocha I've ever experienced. It was rich, creamy and frothy. The barista at the time was passionate about coffee and put love into making it perfect. Sadly I saw they let him go, went to try it since his departure and it's now a subpar generic mocha. Whatever he did made it special. I most likely won't be back.
In NY to watch our son do the marathon, this great little shop was an excellent refuge from the cold wind today! Excellent coffee, hot chocolate and croissants! Also appreciated the spotless bathroom!
