I ordered a $15 drink and paid with card. The bartender didn't not let me place any tip and instead placed a 29% tip himself and never mentioned to doing so. I only found out after looking at the charge after the fact.
I am not opposed to tipping, but I am opposed to letting someone else dictate my tip, especially when it was never communicated.
Edit: Thanks for the reply and thanks for offering to cover my next drink, but I would prefer for your establishment to make it clear there is automatic gratuity: post signs, mention it on the menu, have your bartender mention it to people, etc.
And the fact that there is automatic gratuity at a bar is weird to begin with, especially when there was no tab involved. At that point, just incorporate the tip into the price.

Yesterday, the lady in the bar charged me extra. Just because it’s crowded?

Happy hour is good and the food is quite good as well. Usually a lot of room inside and outside.
One woman bent me down in the bathroom for being Latina, threatened to kill me when she said she was one of my followers, chased me into the bathroom and offended me. With inappropriate language just because of the
The fact that I am Latina. I can't
Tolerate that

wait as a famenina woman because another woman wants to break face.

Beware! This establishment does not comply with posted business hours. Additionally, they take reservations for the days they are closed. Overrated & overpriced. Take your money elsewhere.

One bartender ruined the whole vibe. A short male half bald white bartender kept ignoring me while I was at the bar. I was literally right in front of his garnish station and glasses up front and personal. I was very much waiting my turn politely and didn't harshly wave him down or anything. He made eye contact with me 3 times and kept giving service to the people to my direct right and left, like people who were elbow to elbow with me, and they would leave and new people would come and he'd service them before me. He was very much purposely ignoring me. Then my friend came to see why I had waited 30 minutes for drinks and she came up to my left and he went straight to her and ignored me and asked what she wanted and she pointed to me. It was only then that he took my order after 30 minutes waiting and an empty bar. I won't be going here again. Such trash and rude attitude for no reason. We spent $70 on 4 drinks and I didn't tip because of this man.

Surprised we haven’t heard of this spot till now! Such a nice outdoor rooftop with space for big groups which NYC doesn’t have enough of. I booked two large tables for my husband’s birthday of 20+ people ($200). It ended up raining a little so we actually didn’t need the reservation but the peace of mind is worth it. We had a covered section of the patio with heaters practically to ourselves. Staff were friendly, cocktails were tasty, beer shot combo was solid, and many friends ordered food but I personally didn’t try it. Loved the Montego Slay and Sunnyboy drinks. There’s a $25 clean up fee if you bring in a birthday cake. Overall a great place to hang out with a huge group and I’m surprise it isn’t more packed on a Saturday.PS - there is an elevator so you don’t have to walk up 4 flights of stairs like we did ?
Awesome place
