Whether you are a foodie or connoisseur, you have to try the Full Story. It's a literal and metaphorical fusion of South Asian dishes. Think of a dosa, idli and hopper having a child and you have the Full Story 😄

LORE in Brooklyn is an absolute gem that deserves all the praise it gets—and then some! Every visit feels like a masterclass in hospitality, thanks to Jay, whose impeccable attention to detail and warm, welcoming nature make you feel like a cherished guest every time. The team's thoughtful touches extend beyond the food, creating a welcoming space for everyone, including four-legged friends in the outdoor seating area.

We've been fortunate enough to dine here on several occasions, and LORE never ceases to amaze. Every dish showcases an inspired balance of flavors and textures. The Kimchi Uttapam is a standout, blending vibrant spices and tangy, fermented flavors into a dish that’s as comforting as it is innovative. The Biscuits & Gravy with mushroom coconut ragout, chili crisp, and a perfectly fried egg is divine—comfort food elevated.

The atmosphere is cozy yet refined, making it the perfect spot for a special afternoon out or a casual gathering with friends. The team’s passion for what they do shines through in every aspect, from the creative menu to the exceptional service.

LORE is easily one of our favorite spots in Brooklyn, and we can’t recommend it highly enough. Whether you’re a local or just visiting, do yourself a favor and make a reservation—you’ll be blown away!

Dosa, Duck Confit, Ganache cake were great.

Sea bream 👎

A little cramped, a little pricey (smaller portions) and hard to eat with a fork and knife. Hands, spoon and fork would be better 😭, but I guess they're appealing to the Park Slope demographic.

Ordered "Chai".
Was asked if I wanted it as a latte. Declined.
Did not realize chai did not come as a milk tea 😭😭.
Would've had to order "chai latte" for milk tea.

Cmon 😭

I tested positive for Covid and had to cancel my reservation, after I informed them of this they still charged me a reservation fee. I understand it’s hard for the restaurant but they told me they had to hold the table. Realistically I canceled before they were even open so that makes no sense. Any place that chooses money over the wellbeing of the customers is a huge red flag for me so I won’t be back ever.

Edit: I called the restaurant repeatedly the day of and they did not answer, I cancelled the reservation around 3pm online. To lie in a response shows a really low ethical standard. If you couldn’t fill the table and that’s why you need to charge me then that’s fine, but you shouldn’t lie and say I didn’t try to contact you when I called multiple times before my reservation. If you don’t pick up the phone then take the number off, how am I supposed to know you only answer email. Finally I did not say I would be back. Please reread my email. It’s not about the money, I gave you a chance to make it right and you refused.

The idea that I’m at fault for not looking through the entire website while sick and just calling the number that pops up immediately is insane. If you need the money cause you couldn’t fill the table just say that, don’t tell me I needed to email you at an email that rest support gave me after the fact. And don’t lie about me saying I’d be back.

Flavor bombs, every dish was an absolute banger. Great technique and creative flavor where every dish was absolutely delicious and we didn't leave a single morsel of food on the plate

This place is so great, welcoming and special I almost don’t want write this for fear too many people will catch wind of it haha!

The food is Indian but with a bit of a twist and unique take. The chef is super tapped in and also really focused on radical hospitality, he greets / talks to so many of the guests. It’s great.

The dosa, chicken, roti ravioli, mushroom uttapam, chocolate ganache with rose ice cream (which is basically an elevated amazing brownie sundae), and chai affogato were my favorites. The wine options are also superb! There’s also a lamb appetizer that was so unique and delicious, I wish I remembered the name!

Lore is on a really cute cozy corner in Park Slope-perfect for a date night or intimate dinner with a few friends.

Tbh next time I go I’ll do a me-day hang, bring a book and get a glass of red wine, a dosa and brownie sundae. The craving is real!

I’ve also heard they do a great brunch that includes American staples like pancakes and biscuits but also some Indian items-!

Review for LORE - Brooklyn

I recently had the pleasure of dining at LORE in Brooklyn, and it was an experience to remember! From the moment I walked in, the ambiance set the tone for an unforgettable evening. The cozy decor made the space feel both upscale and inviting.

The staff was exceptional—warm, knowledgeable, and attentive without being intrusive. Every recommendation felt thoughtful and personalized, which made us feel well cared for throughout the night.

As for the food—wow! Each dish was a masterpiece, showcasing creativity and impeccable attention to detail. The flavors were bold yet balanced, with a perfect blend of familiar comfort and innovative surprises. It’s clear that the chefs at LORE have an extraordinary talent for storytelling through their cuisine. The standout dish for me was mushroom uttapum, which was a symphony of flavors that left me savoring every bite.

The cocktails were equally impressive, with a menu that highlighted unique ingredients and sophisticated blends. Each drink was like a work of art, both visually and tastefully.

Overall, LORE is more than just a restaurant; it’s an experience. It’s the kind of place you’d want to return to for both special occasions and an unforgettable night out. Kudos to the entire team for creating something truly special in the heart of Brooklyn!

I knew I was going to enjoy my evening at Lore when the Chef walked up to me with his kilo watt smile, welcomed me and gave me a friendly hug. The staff was also uniquely inviting as well. We ordered a few appetizers but the dosa was phenomenal, we had an eggplant dish and my friend doesn't eat eggplant finished it. The star for me was the Duck Confit wow just wow. The duck wasn't gamey but seasoned to perfection and the chicken would definitely take you to India. The drinks as well as the desert were a hit and we literally left feeling very satisfied amd full. Will be back to enjoy Lore but for Brunch.

The starters (ravioli and kebab) were good but the mains (a soggy utthapam whose "wild" shiitake/king mushrooms were drowned out by the spicing and an inedible "fish and chips" featuring a blob of frozen pollack in a thick soggy shell) were not. If I had a dog that could not make better french fries, I'd shoot it. Two nearby tables also left their orders almost untouched. The semolina dessert was excellent but the ganache was a brownie and the same rose ice cream came with both.

On the ten item wine list, I found nothing that really wanted to sing with the food. All the seating is jammed into a third of the space—the rest is taken up by a large, mostly empty, bar and empty space beside it.

The second star is for the waitstaff who were friendly and attentive.
