Lucali in Brooklyn is a true gem, offering some of the best pizza in New York. This cash-only, BYOB spot in Carroll Gardens is famous for its thin-crust, brick-oven pies, handcrafted with fresh ingredients. The tomato sauce is rich and flavorful, the cheese perfectly melted, and the crust has just the right amount of char. Toppings are simple but high-quality—fresh basil, garlic, and pepperoni are favorites. The cozy, candlelit atmosphere adds to the charm. Be prepared for long waits, as they don’t take reservations, but the experience is well worth it. Lucali delivers a near-perfect New York pizza experience.

Loved the whole experience. I was skeptical about waiting a few hours to put our names down, but it was well worth it!

I’ve tried to get a table here, half a dozen times and succeeded twice. Both times the pizza was classic. The ingredients are simple but it’s done at such a high-level that it’s hard to complain about anything else. The ambience even the wedding line to get a table, however, annoying contributes to the exclusivity of the establishment. They don’t have ice they don’t sell alcohol or many drinks to speak of. You can bring your own, but that’s also a bit extra. Of course the pizza is the draw here and it is stellar. The only weird thing was we got seated about five minutes after our time, but it took them 50 minutes to bring my pizza and they had the nerve to imply that I should hurry and eat it five minutes later, but it was all good. I ignored them and ate my pizza at my leisure no problems

to be clear, I am not angry about their reservation system. I feel if a restaurant as this much hype, they deserve to have their choice of reservation system.
Food is nothing extraordinary. Pasta was amazing but overall I feel the restaurant is nothing but hype. The calzone was also good. The pizza with mushroom, peppers and onions was below average. The pepperoni was better (as my friends said) but above average at most. Le Industrie, I feel has much better pizza than this.
The service was prompt and the atmosphere was very cosy which is great but did not enjoy the food at all.

I wanted to share my recent experience at this restaurant because while the food was fantastic, the customer service left me feeling pretty disappointed.
We arrived in the afternoon to order a pizza to pick up later that evening. When we returned, we checked in, paid for our pizza, and took it outside to enjoy by the entrance. After opening the box, we realized it wasn’t the pizza we ordered, but we didn’t want to cause any issues during what seemed like a busy time, so we decided to eat it anyway.
Moments later, the hostess said, “Wait, don’t eat that pizza — it’s the wrong one!” Her tone made it seem we were at fault, even though it was her mistake. While I understand mistakes happen, how she handled it made us uncomfortable, especially since other customers were staring. Rather than acknowledging the mix-up in a considerate way, it felt like we were being scolded.
I wanted to love this place because the pizza was phenomenal, but the experience left me feeling unwelcome. I hope the staff can improve how they handle these situations in the future because the food truly deserves better representation.

Best pizza experience ever. The service, the pie, the calzone, the pasta, ALL OF IT, FIRST CLASS. Mark and crew gave me and my family the best pizza experience of a lifetime. Grateful.

Surprisingly simple pizza but GOOOOOD!
Can't wait to revisit for calzone
The most rude and arrogant host that I’ve ever encountered. Lacks any normal communication skills. Should not be allowed to interact with customers. Can’t believe that her service fits within the image and standards of what the owner would want their customer’s experience to be.
