Every bit worth the wait! The pasta and pizza are both incredibly delicious. Some of the best I’ve ever had. The food comes out so quickly, it will catch you off guard. The service was so friendly and accommodating. BYOB, so bring your own drinks, no charge. People usually start getting in line a couple hours before they open.
Waited a few weeks so the NYC aura can wear off.
Good: Restaurant is really nice. Great neighborhood vibe. Good atmosphere.
Sauce is fresh and bright, cheese is nice.
Calzone was good, definitely leaning in to the Italian-american style.
Not so good: the crust reminded me of a puffed up pita. Not much chew or anything going on really. Not sure you want that in a pizza. Way too much basil.

What's there to say about Lucali that hasn't been said? It was a pizza pinnacle that I've been dying to try for many, many years. I finally had the time to stand in line on a weekday and it was completely manageable. I got there about 2:15 and was close to the front. When they started taking reservations at 3:50, II got the 5:00 time I wanted. The time in line went fast. Because I was engrossed in conversation with the line sitters (Task Rabbits) ahead of me.
