Front of house needs better management-
-waited 5 min to be greeted despite being slow. One hostess finally got to me then disappeared didn’t come back. Another woman helped me and brought me to the back but there was confusion on where to seat me despite there being open tables. I ended up on a banquet seating against the wall where me and my fried had a small square table on a very weird angle to eat on (corner of table facing us).
-twice the same waitress brought things to our table that were not ours.
-Staff didn’t have knowledge of menu.
-I asked for one vodka the woman said ok. I asked another male waiter for the same and he said they did not actually have that brand.
-Needs to on top of sweeping bathroom floors.
Food
-this is very barely Cambodian.
-they were out of a main dish and they have a small menu,
-shrimp fired rice just was mushy rice with a coconut flavor and some shrimp bits threw in.
-dry rub chicken tenders were not bad the acidic sour sauce with it was the most “Cambodian” flavor I had there.
Having been to Cambodia and all over SE Asia I have a problem with this being called Cambodian. At best it was a Thai take by people who don’t understand balance of salt fat acid and heat. Best thing was the Marvin Gaye music playing.
Go to Bong instead.

Beautifully warm and cozy with a variety of seatings that work great for dates, friends or family meals. I love that the back room turns into a speakeasy, it def feels like one. The food was well executed with delicate yet surprisingly Cambodian flavors. Everything we ordered was excellent, my kids loved their fried rice and chicken. I want to come back and try other items on the menu, esp the curry. Loved our evening meal here. A neighborhood gem ❤️

Cannot believe this was my first time to Lula Mae! We had a lovely “family date” with my toddler and everything was perfect. Ambiance was more of a vibe than anticipated, the service was friendly and prompt, the menu was unique and flavorful and there was even a kids menu! All in all a perfect evening out; we’ll be back!

We came here near the end of the night during Negroni week. In addition to our Negroni, I got some of their meat skewers. The skewers had a lot of flavor and the Negroni was the best one I had that night.

So good, definitely originating from Khmer roots but there is a twist on it, still so comforting and delicious

The food is great, I love it. They have an awesome tasting menu on Thursday, we've been a couple of times for happy hour, and the normal menu is also reasonably priced .

This is my first review I have ever written. I have never been to a restaurant where someone has been so blatantly disrespectful. We had someone in our party with a bad allergy. They messed up and she spent the rest of the night sick. That was one thing — but their reaction and how they treated us after was what really took the cake. Would avoid this spot for sure.

Food is just okay and service after their HUGE mistake (brought us multiple dishes containing an allergen) was beyond unacceptable. Too many better places to go to in NYC - skip this place.

Absolutely wonderful! What a cool little spot and really good food. Was cooked exactly as advertised. The staff was friendly and pleasant. I don’t live anywhere near it but will visit again when I’m in the city!

They need to learn how to properly serve customers with allergies. My friend got sick after notifying our server that she has a serious allergy (our server this night was the owners wife, not any of the actual wait staff). The owners wife was slow to respond and generally unprofessional in managing the situation. Very disappointing.
Unfortunately we had a pretty terrible experience here and we were really looking forward to it due to the reviews so am pretty shocked
