Vibrant and cozy interior with delicious food. My friends and I shared a dry pot which was great. However the tastiest dishes in my opinion were the cold noodle salad (spicy) steamed beef dumplings and the scallion pancakes.

Delicious Szechuan (spicy and numbing) food! I always love this restaurant since the flavors are spot on and the dry pot items are full of veggies.
The prices are a bit steep! I had to downsize my day pot to 4 items so it wouldn’t be crazy expensive. Tip 1: if you use Instacart+, there might be deals! I got $15 off $35 (before taxes). Tip 2: the lunch menu saves a ton of money! Go there 12-4pm and save!
12-4pm lunch specials on food! Dry pot items are about half their usual price!
4:30-7pm(?) happy hours on 3 cocktails, wine and beer.
Vegetarian options: The dry pot is especially delicious and has many vegan/vegetarian options. Highly recommend!

I order uber eats from this location a lot of times. It’s kind of pricey when ordering through uber eats but was always worth it, EXCEPT last week when I ordered the dry pot it was not good. It wasn’t spicy even though I got the most spicy flavor, actually there was just no flavor in general. Food was not hot when it came, usually delivery takes around the same time and I always got my dry pot pretty warm. Most of all the noodles were swollen and it usually never comes that way. Quality has gone down A LOT and I wonder if the chefs making the dry pots have changed? Customer support was not helpful at all. Very disappointed.

Initially we went to a nearby restaurant without a reservation, and we were turned away. Walking past, we could see the really cool decor of MaLa and tried our luck. Ben was able to accommodate my party of 5 without a reservation. We enjoyed everything! Ben’s customer service, he was very welcoming! We made great recommendations for food items. I will most definitely be returning whenever I’m in New York.

Incredible MáLà Dry Pot Experience!
I recently dined at this restaurant and was absolutely blown away by the MáLà Dry Pot! I opted for a combo of Soy Ginger, Marbled Beef, Beef Tenderloin, Sirloin Steak, and Pig Intestine, paired with a variety of vegetables and noodles including Bean Sprout, Konjac Noodle, Potato Noodle, Enoki Mushroom, and Rice Cake. Each ingredient was fresh, flavorful, and perfectly cooked.
The marbled beef and tenderloin were melt-in-your-mouth delicious, while the pig intestine added a rich, unique flavor that perfectly complemented the spice of the MáLà. The noodles and vegetables were the perfect addition, providing just the right amount of texture and taste to balance the richness of the meats.
The Soy Ginger sauce was a perfect match, adding a tangy, zesty flavor that enhanced every bite. The service was top-notch, with the staff being attentive and knowledgeable, ensuring that our dining experience was nothing short of perfect.
If you're a fan of spicy, flavorful dishes, this MáLà Dry Pot is an absolute must-try. I can’t recommend it enough and will definitely be coming back for more!

This is the best Chinese food I’ve had so far in America! The flavors are authentic, the dishes are perfectly prepared, and the service is outstanding. Also, try their Gold & Silver Mántòu for dessert. Highly recommend!
I used to really love Mala Project, but it seems like the quality control has gone down a bit. Dry pot is our main order and it’s just not worth it most of the time, especially for how much they charge.
Our most recent delivery, we asked for 2 servings of the eye of round beef and it came with about 5 actually full pieces. If I’m paying $9/serving, I expect a decent amount of food. They load the order with a non proportional amount of noodles and veggies which is really annoying.
I also wish they had an in between of their little spicy and spicy levels. One is super bland, the other is pretty spicy which is more than we personally can handle.
Most of the other dishes are all right, though not as consistent as you’d like. But we order here for the dry pot which has been very disappointing our past few visits and deliveries.
