The Mac Shack in Bed-Stuy is hands down one of my favorite spots. The food is incredible, the people are so kind, and the art throughout the space is beautiful and available for purchase. The seafood mac and cheese is EVERYTHING—my go-to every time. They definitely live up to their mission and then some. Can’t recommend this place enough!

I was really looking forward to trying this place, especially as a big fan of mac & cheese, but unfortunately, my experience was pretty disappointing. I ordered the meat lovers mac & cheese, and it was extremely oily, overly salty, and felt like everything was just thrown together with a lot of cheap cheese poured on top. The jerk oxtail pocket was also way too oily and had been fried so long it turned black and was basically inedible. I genuinely wanted to like this spot, but the food just didn’t deliver. I hope they can make some improvements, because as it stands, I can’t recommend it.

Very cozy and warm atmosphere with beautiful art and a wonderful owner who truly cares about her shop. I LOVED the food, so filling for the size and you can see the seasoning in the Mac!!! so yummmyyyyyyyyyyy I’ll def come again!!

Delicious mac and cheese, got the classic and BBQ. The small size for $3 more is huge. And the BBQ chicken was great! Total gamble on that and I would only get orders that include it. The woman at the store was very friendly. I am definitely coming back.

I ordered seafood mac for pick and only received tiny salmon flakes. Upon arrival after checking my order. I told the young lady at the counter about the incorrect order. She told me they no longer sell lobster tails, and there was no more shrimp or crabmeat. The order should have been cancelled and never made. The lady demeanor was very unwelcoming and had a bad attitude. She offer me something else or a refund with such a nasty tone. I hope this business does better. Because of the lack of professionalism I will not be returning or recommend

I got the large portion but the cook time should be suited to make sure it’s cook through for the price charged for it.

I really wanted to like this place, but after multiple visits, I just can’t justify giving it a higher rating. I've been here 3 times, and each time I’ve been disappointed in one way or another. The first issue was when I was charged more than the menu price for a breakfast sandwich — and this was even after they were out of an ingredient! I ended up paying $13 for bacon bits and a slice of cheese on a croissant, which was absurd for what I got.
Today, the salmon bites looked like they were rushed out and honestly resembled dog food more than anything edible.
The menu is boring and lacks variety — it’s basically mac and cheese with a few meat options, but there’s not a vegetable in sight. The mac and cheese itself is basic, and honestly, it’s shocking that it’s the main attraction of the place when it doesn’t even stand out.
The space is beautiful, but the effort they put into renovations clearly didn’t extend to improving the food or the menu. The counter staff were friendly, but professionalism was definitely lacking. They really need to step it up if they want to last long-term, especially with so many better options nearby.
