Great staff. They let me sample a few flavors. I got chai and tulsi chocolate. Good ice cream. I would consider going back to try other flavors.
A great ice cream shop with a lot of interesting flavors like chaat masala and tamarind spice.
Tried two flavors before deciding what to get in the moment & after purchasing my ice cream, I went back to buy a pint. However, the cashier only allowed me to try one more flavor, making it a total of just three samples even after I had already made a purchase. I would have bought more pints, but without sampling that's not possible.
Not your typical vanilla or chocolate chip flavors so sampling really matters.
Honestly losing business over the sampling discrepancy!!
Came here on a date night and had a great time. Masala chai and carrot halwa were our favorite flavors. They have these nice plushies on the window sills you can sit on if the seating is full. Amazing ice-cream!
Delicious and unique ice cream flavors.
The cilantro vegan sorbet is a must - lots of cilantro and tasted like a delicious sweet Indian chutney in the best way possible
The cardamom variety doesn't disappoint either
Lots of vegan options too including vegan kulfi which I'll have to try the next time I'm in.
Gentleman at the till was very friendly and helpful
Awesome spot.
Live this place they has something new to try everytime my favorite is spicy peanut
Great ice cream
Really good.
My favourite ice cream shop ever!! The flavours are always rotating, and are only ever absolutely delicious! Such a fun mix of textures too!
Dominique was so helpful in helping g me picking out a flavour (because I was considering about half the menu) - she’s the best and so friendly!!!
Fast response time, great communication, and reliable workmanship. I’m so glad I chose this company. My garage door runs better than ever.

Rose cinnamon roasted almond ice cream was overloaded with sugar and devoid of flavor. Shop vibe seemed amateurish too.
Proppperr ice cream. Cool/bold flavors. Good vegan chocolate. Also have soft serve.
I have been going here for over 5 years. I look forward to returning because they always have unique and delicious flavors that I cannot find anywhere else. Right now they have Diwali flavors like ghughra. In the summer they had cilantro mint. They also have kulfi, ice cream sandwiches, chai, and a couple of soft serve flavors. The staff is always warm and helpful. I am so happy there is a place like this here that I keep getting to go back to try all their creations!
Loved the classic flavors as well as the Diwali specials! The south asian inspired flavors are done very well here and worth a visit if youre in the area!
Would definitely recommend taking a pint home!

Review for Malai (Smith Street location):
I went in with high expectations and walked out utterly disgusted. I ordered a split scoop, left the shop, and within two minutes the ice cream had already melted into a soupy mess. It wasn’t ice cream at all — it was basically soft serve trying (and failing) to hold its shape. By the time I took two bites, it was literally turning into a milkshake in my hand.
I brought it back immediately, hoping they would recognize how unacceptable it was, but the product itself was beyond redemption. For a place branding itself as an artisanal ice cream shop, this was a complete joke. When you pay premium prices, you expect premium quality — not something that melts faster than it’s served.
If you’re looking for real ice cream with actual texture and stability, skip Malai. Don’t waste your time or money here.
