Incredibly disrespectful to their neighbors with loud music on Thursdays and drunk people screaming and arguing outside until 2-3AM. There were a few times where it sounded dangerous and that someone was being hurt. They do nothing to curtail it and don't seem to care, at all.
Edit: it's 1:18AM and it's still as bad. Doesn't seem like owner looked into it or did anything after saying they would.

I have been to malka for dinner multiple times. Each time it has been a supernatural experience: the staff is kind, the food is delicious, and the ambiance kindles a torch in my heart.
The selection of dishes is excellent. It covers a wide variety of international options with an excellent twist. The schnitzel is to die for, the best in the US. The hummus is bold and creamy, it will transport you to the desert in the Middle East. The drink selection is superb.
One of the best restaurants in the US and a hidden gem in NYC.

Malka in Dumbo is easily one of the best meals I’ve had in NYC. The service was truly outstanding — the best waiters (shoutout Adir & Jesus), so attentive and friendly, and super helpful with my party’s gluten allergy.
We started with the focaccia, served warm straight out of the oven with a generous portion of tahini (my favorite). We also got the mezze platter & hummus: perfectly salted with a fresh variety of vegetables and spreads. Highly recommend, a must order.
The signature green beans were another hit: served chilled, garlicky and super refreshing.
For mains, we shared the schnitzel (crispy on the outside, stuffed with mashed potatoes). The special branzino was filleted tableside in a delicious tomato-based sauce. The lamb kebab was the highlight: so juicy and tender, served with grilled tomatoes and onions, and the crispiest bread to soak up all the juices and more tahini.
After our now third visit in the past month, this is now our spot to bring all of our out-of-town friends. Can’t recommend enough!!

We had a terrific experience dining here. The food was delicious and so fresh! The vegetables were beautiful and the hummus was delicious. We tried the lamb Levon and the branzino in tomato sauce. They filleted our fish tableside beautifully and it was delicious. Not spicy and very flavorful. The green beans we ordered were crunchy and perfectly seasoned (they are served chilled). Our servers, Jesus and Adir were personable and attentive. A standout was the piping hot pita bread. We will definitely be back!!

Malka blew us away — especially with their signature mashed potatoes–filled schnitzel. It’s one of the most creative and satisfying dishes I’ve had in a long time. The schnitzel was perfectly crispy on the outside, but what really sets it apart is the rich, creamy mashed potatoes tucked inside. It’s comforting, surprising, and somehow still light despite being indulgent. The flavors are nostalgic but elevated, and every bite feels like a hug. If you’re going to try one thing at Malka, make it this dish — it’s a true standout. The atmosphere was cozy and fun, service was excellent, and the rest of the menu was just as thoughtful. Can’t wait to come back!

The beef tartare was hands-down one of the best I’ve had—super fresh, perfectly balanced, and just melt-in-your-mouth good. And if you’re into espresso martinis, you have to try the Turkish one. It’s got this rich, spiced twist that totally levels it up. So smooth, slightly sweet, with that perfect little kick.
Also, shoutout to the staff—some of the nicest, most attentive service I’ve had in a long time. They really make you feel welcome and taken care of.

The food was incredible: we especially loved the Freekh Salad (a fantastic newer addition that our server Adir wisely suggested!) and every flavorful bite of our mains. The cocktails were equally impressive, especially the standout Turkish Martini. What truly elevated the night was Adir, our server, who was absolutely amazing – knowledgeable, attentive, and made fantastic recommendations. Great vibe, outstanding food and drinks, and impeccable service from Adir made this a perfect spot for an awesome date night with my wife!!!
