Amazing food and service!

This place went from wonderful to subpar. I knew within seconds of walking in that this place must have changed owners. The menu, formerly rich and creative, had become arid. Parts of the charming decoration were missing, replaced by a large ATM machine and a sign that said a surcharge of 20 percent (!!) for credit and debit card transactions would be added. Who does that? We ordered two pale burgers, one with saggy fries and one with a salad with zero dressing. $ 28. I don't know what happened, but if you don't want to run a restaurant, don't do it, or if you don't know how to, get somebody who does. Puzzling.

Great and charming restaurant spot, but STOP CHARGING +20% FOR CREDIT CARD Went to Manny's for brunch today as I have many times in the past, and over the new year the owner instituted a new policy of charging an extra 20% if you pay with credit card, and installed an ATM. Again: not a credit card minimum, and not a tip. Rather, if your bill is $40 then now it's magically $48. Honestly this is just insulting, and I've never seen any other place try to get away with this ever. I'm pretty sure it's actually against their agreement with the credit card processor (MasterCard and Visa have historically had strict policies against charging credit card users more), but it's also just d**** I mean, either take credit cards or don't, make it cash-only if you want, but a 20% surcharge is offensive. I assume the owner's trying to make extra money off this by getting a share of ATM fees and paying less to the credit card companies, but it feels like price gouging of loyal customers. This is a neighborhood cafe, not a destination for out-of-towners. If the owner replies to this review and changes the policy, I'll update my review accordingly.

This is a absolutely TERRIBLE. PLACE. TO GO. It was so hot in there, and it wasnt just a little hot to the amount that you can bare it, but it was so hot I had to leave for a second TWICE. Plus, the food there was terrible! And I ordered food without tomato, but they gave me tomato! And the waiting was NOT GOOD. It took 30 minuets to make a GOD DAMN SANDWICH. I DEFINITELY do NOT recommend

If you're looking for a breakfast sandwich don't come here. Me and my boyfriend ordered two sausage egg and cheese sandwich's, his on a bagel with hot sauce, which he didn't get. We paid $10 for each sandwich which is a absurd. And got the wrong thing and on top of that it was all burnt. Not impressed.

I lucked out again ! I came here alone and it was around 10 am sat morning plenty of parking and I walked in and fell in love with the place. Louisa & Jules were working so hard. Louisa told me all the specials and I wanted the cheesy grits but I just had that at peaches hot house in Brooklyn. So I go steak and eggs and a giant coffee. They had Splenda and when a local hip cool place provides that I know I am gonna be taken care of. The coffee so hot and fresh and 1/2 too ! Then I waited about 10 minutes for my hot delicious breakfast. Home fries great and with onions and home made I asked for cheese in my scrambled and they were like 4 inches high in my plate. Not over done still juicy and cheezy. The steak was already sliced and so tasty. I did not need a steak knife. The meal was a 10 and the table next to me did get the cheesy grits so impressive it was in a bowl and so big. Everyone is smiling and diverse and so not expensive. This is a new favorite and I will be back Thank you for providing great food at a reasonable price

First, the place is cute | Second, the service was sooooo amazing, they are very kind, and they are very-very attentive | Third, the most important the French Toast was sooooooo good, I also had a side of home-fries where I was able to add spinach and avocado to it....yessss!!! Four, they played very soulful music, which made me very happy that they embrace the music that the people whom has grown up in this community was raised on (I say this because I went to a place in our neighborhood that was playing hardcore-death-metal .... I've never went back. But Manny's restaurant is a true representation of our community) LOVE LOVE LOVE now one of my favorite places! PS the kitchen staff is Mix and I say this because a lot of restaurant are firing they're kitchen staff in place for Central American workers so that they can get away with underpaying them, and that's something I do not see here, I love this place already so much.

We visited Manny's twice for Breakfast during our recent holiday in NYC. Very friendly service and the food was great! Steak and Eggs were amazing. Next time we are in NYC we will definitely be back.

I use to come from NJ for their specials and the delicious burgers what I received today was an unacceptable wait, an odd tasting burnt burger and none of the toppings I asked for. So disappointed. Just change the name to something else because it's definitely not the same old Manny's!

I used to LOVE this place. It was the Gem of Bed Stuy, I realized something was wrong as soon as I saw the empty walls, empty specials board and different employees. I ordered the Steak and eggs as usual and my eggs were not term I asked for, the home fries were basically potatoes and paprika with little veggies. Coffee was ok. I ordered an Avocado Toast and they run out of it... really? it was 9am! We wanna give it a second chance in a few months, hopefully they'll get better. P.S. If someone know where is the last chef working, please please let me know.

I used to love this place. The new management definitely screwed up a good thing here. Food is not up to par anymore

New Management, new chefs, new menu. might as well get a new name because its trash now. sad to see this happen, here's what i got vs what I got 5 months ago. I immediately assumed they just got a new chef but i was wrong the whole restaurant is different. If anyone knows where the original chef or owners went LET ME KNOW.

Cozy atmosphere and friendly staff, might have had a better experience if they weren't so crowded. Weren't offering the menu option I requested, forgot me outside on the patio in low 40 degree weather, did refill my coffee to their credit when they noticed. But the eggs came cooked wrong, potatoes were cold, portions were tiny and arrived over an hour after I placed my order when someone was served that arrived well after me. Just being frank. Kinda ruined my morning. Unless prompted I'm not likely to choose this again over other local options.
