I wanted to like this restaurant, but they carelessly charged my credit card twice, and when I tried calling them to get the issue resolved, they never picked up the phone. Very unprofessional. Eventually I had to dispute the double charge with my bank. The food is decent, and the place definitely has a unique vibe, but I would recommend either paying in cash or monitoring your card transactions very closely if you end up using your card.

Somehow stumbled upon this hidden gem. It was such a joy to eat here! The seating and tables definitely vary, so it might be a little awkward to eat and drink depending on where you sit.

BE AWARE: they don’t seat tables if you arrive less than an hour before closing.

Two of us got off the train midway home to grab a quick dinner around 10:40 PM. We’ve been to this place plenty of times before—always loved the food and the vibe.

But this time, we were told we could only order food to go. The restaurant is open until 11:30 PM, and there were still several tables eating and drinking. I double-checked what time they seat the last table, and the waitress told me: 10:30 PM—a full hour before closing.

That’s wild, especially since the kitchen was still taking to-go orders and they serve everything on plastic plates anyway.

Feels like broken logic—or maybe just lazy Gen Z staff who didn’t care about an extra $20 in tips. Idk. Either way, decided to spend my money elsewhere—NYC has plenty of cool spots that still care about customer service.

This Thai restaurant in the Broadway, Brooklyn area is truly unique. We stopped in for dinner around 9 PM, and as expected in New York, parking was tricky—we ended up parking about half a mile away and walking.

The ambiance stood out immediately: very dimly lit, almost to the point where you could barely see your food, with low, close-set tables and eclectic décor. A Thai movie was projected on a big screen (without sound), which added to the charm. However, we were seated next to a rack filled with condiments, possibly fish sauce, which gave off a strong odor that was a little distracting.

For appetizers, we tried the steamed dumplings (shumai style), stuffed with chicken and shrimp. They arrived hot, juicy, and perfectly steamed, with a light soy-based dipping sauce—simple but excellent. For my main, I ordered my go-to Thai dish: minced meat with basil, served with rice. The portion was generous enough that I had leftovers for lunch the next day. It was flavorful, though I wished for a bit more chili heat and a stronger punch of basil. A fried egg on top would have been the perfect touch but was missing. My husband chose a soupy noodle dish with a curry-like broth and chicken. The broth was mild but aromatic, the chicken tender, and the fried noodles added nice texture. The menu itself was fairly small but thoughtfully curated, with some interesting options like Wagyu beef.

Overall, despite the very dim lighting and the occasional strong condiment smell, the food was fresh, flavorful, and satisfying. I’d recommend this spot for anyone looking for a slightly off-beat but tasty Thai dining experience in Brooklyn.

Super delicious. Great appetizers. Authentic AND spicy. Don't say you went unless you have some Ya Dong. Loved the atmosphere - peep everyone's photos.

just came back from thailand yesterday and was craving thai food. this place was actually pretty authentic. papaya salad had all the right ingredients, could be more spicy and more tangy but overall pretty yummy. tom yum soup was the real deal in terms of flavor. love the mushroom in it. small but good for an appetizers. hainanese chicken was okay but wasn’t super tender. rice had the right flavor but a little bit mushy. garlic soy sauce could’ve been a bit more flavorful. but overall price wasn’t too bad. atmosphere sooooo awesome. love the thai-chinese decor and the repurposed movie theater seating. would come here again

Tried to eat at this place but did not succeed. Supposed to close at 11.30pm (according to business hours), called twice at 10.30 - twice - to find out about the kitchen hours, and was told they would wait till 10.50pm. Told them we were going. We arrived with friends from Dumbo, on time at 10.50pm sharp, but were told they were closed!! Really?! Atmosphere seems nice, food too according to reviews..but service, well.. Can't do that with customers, hope they fix this detail..

Food is good, but would never come back simply based on service. We had ordered mains which never came and they brought us the bill saying we had to pay now because they had a big party coming in. When we pointed out we had ordered more food that never came, they said we could move to a different table and then immediately came back and said that we really just had to leave, it was too full to accommodate us at another table. We were there maybe an hour, honestly so dumb. And the restaurant looks like you’re in a shipping container and the seating is quite uncomfortable.

Solid food, all the dishes I had were excellent. The decor is nice and unique. Seating is a bit awkward if you’re taller but if you get any other seat than the bench it should be ok.

The service was great, quick and I was seated quickly every time I came here.

The noodle soup was excellent!

Overall, great for a nice night out.

I’ve been here over 7 times and used to love it because the dishes are generally flavorful and the atmosphere is very cute.
I have a big problem with the prices of the dishes since the cutlery is all plastic and paper plates that fall apart. I get that it is street food themed but then the prices need to be lower.
There are still some appetizers that I still love but I have been increasingly disappointed with the food. I just ordered the chicken massaman curry to pick up and it was extremely dry and overcooked :(

The ambiance here is seriously one of the best in NYC - you feel like you’ve stepped straight into Thailand. The food was excellent, and our server was lovely and attentive. The chairs are a bold, unexpected touch that shake up the usual dinner vibe in a great way. Definitely a standout spot.

Not just a restaurant (although the food is delicious). This is an experience! Old theatre seating, movie posters, crazy movies playing, and the nicest hosts you could ask for. I wanted to invite them home. The spicy chilies are not for the timid but the taste keeps you reaching for more. The appetizers were delicious and the Khan Soi soup was so full of flavor, the whole table loved it. I would definitely go back again!
