Our dinner at Marco Polo Italian Restaurant was one of those cozy, laughter filled evenings that linger in your memory. The place has that classic Italian charm, warm lighting, soft chatter all around, and a welcoming staff who made sure everything flowed smoothly from the moment we sat down.
We ordered several dishes to share. The oysters came bubbling under a layer of golden cheese, perfectly seasoned, with a squeeze of lemon that lifted all the flavors. The pizza had that thin, slightly charred crust crisp on the outside, chewy inside with just the right balance of tangy tomato sauce and melted mozzarella. You could tell it came straight from a real pizza oven. We also had lasagna and their porkchop.
The service was attentive without being intrusive, and even though the restaurant was busy, the atmosphere stayed relaxed. Everyone around our table was smiling and enjoying themselves kids included which says a lot about how family friendly the place is.
If you’re looking for an authentic Italian spot in the city that makes you feel like you’re part of a long Sunday family dinner, Marco Polo is it. Delicious food, good company, and that home-style warmth you can’t fake. Highly recommended for both intimate dinners and big group meals alike.

Anyone who gives this place less than 5 stars for anything does not understand traditional Italian American food or culture. Almost no one does a Caesar salad properly- Marco Polo and spots on Arthur Ave in the Bronx are the only ones Every time I come here I am reminded of home and childhood. I saw a few 4 stars for atmosphere- the place is perfect.

Marco Polo is a Carroll Gardens staple, established in the ’80s. I stopped in there last night for the first time for dinner, and I can see why it’s been a neighborhood favorite for decades.
Marco, the owner, is not only an incredible chef but also one of the nicest people you’ll ever meet. The staff is warm and welcoming, which makes the whole experience even better.
The food was outstanding. The spicy vodka sauce was absolutely delicious—packed with flavor and just the right amount of heat. I also had the rigatoni bolognese, which was incredible. The pasta was cooked perfectly al dente—any Italian knows that’s the only way to eat pasta.
Marco Polo is the kind of place that reminds you why classic neighborhood restaurants endure—fantastic food, great people, and a welcoming atmosphere. I’ve already told my friends about it, and we’re planning a night to go back for dinner together.

One of finest Italian restaurant I've had in a long time. Gnocchi with tomato sauce and fried calamari was perfection. Service was just as great! It doesn't get better than this! Thank you Marco Polo!

I've been going to Marco Polo now since 1984, with the transition back to Marco in the kitchen I'm taking over the restaurant and the closure of enoteca if you're disabled and you're unable to climb stairs there's no restroom for your needs, the food is good quality nicely prep but this in mind is a true inconvenience to those of us with a disability.
