So glad I found this place! The atmosphere here is always warm and welcoming and I especially appreciate the consistency. My coffee comes out exactly how I like it every time.

This is the greatest coffee shop of all time you will not be disappointed. I have a goat cheese sandwich every morning, every single day of my life. I’m in love with everything here. I Would give my life for Marcy Myrtle. I would go to war for this place. No cap.

Great food, friendly baristas, and a lovely sense of community. We’ve been coming here for years and I always look forward to the (very unique) egg & cheese and the matcha latte, which I get with almond milk! I’m picky about matcha but I really love the one they use here.
I am from Australia and we like good coffee. This coffee is as good as Oz.

Coffee was perfection but in addition it’s the service and efficiency that really blew me away. Thank you Marcy & Myrtle for raising the bar for baristas and coffee shop standards.

Every single time I come in here, I notice how differently I’m greeted and addressed. It’s a very noticeable difference how this older white woman treats anyone who isn’t white. I’ve come here a few times and every single time it’s been horrible customer service whereas anyone else is met with a smile and overall a happier introduction. As others have stated, it’s crazy for them to be acting this way in a historically Black neighborhood. I usually go for the convenience since it’s a 3 minute walk but I’d rather walk a mile than pay $10 for a drink with an unwelcoming attitude. Go literally anywhere else

Edit: forgot to mention the matcha honestly is terrible
Unfortunately I’ll have to follow behind the other reviews stating this is not a place minorities should visit. The woman who is normally there ( not sure if it’s the owner) is NEVER friendly towards me when I enter. There is a clear difference with how she interacts with other clients and then minorities. This morning I walked in and stood in line behind a nice couple who ordered and paid. To allow space for other people to come in I stepped up to the register while the couple had a conversation about heating up their baked goods on the side. The woman and man had been taking turns taking orders, as soon as I walked up to the register. The woman didn’t even say hello (although she was very friendly with the couple in front of me) instead of a good morning or hello, I was met with an agitated “do you need something”, confused I replied yes, she then proceeds to tell me “the line is over there “ while gesturing rudely with her hands. I let her know I’d been here before the additional people came but that I’d just leave. If she didn’t notice me there the whole time that’s fine but she’s so rude and based on other reviews it’s selective. For context I’m a black woman and was professionally dressed (not that it should even matter). As others have stated other minorities (transgender, etc) have also had negative experiences. There’s a Brooklyn Blend in the area I’ll be going to instead.

I’ve been going here for awhile (also, I’m a minority and they’re very nice from my own context and experience, not to negate any one else’s experience) and there was a point where I kept asking for iced espresso and buying Perrier to make an espresso tonic and months later they put it on the menu in my honor haha.
Love the staff here and the people who work here. From Chris to Dani, they’re a fun bunch! Also can’t forget about the blueberry cheese danish 💖😍

I’ve been going to Marcy & Myrtle since 2018! It’s my go-to every day. The coffee is really good and consistent regardless of who is making your drink. It’s by far the best coffee in the area, the people are lovely and good at what they do, and the vibe is chill and easy.

Been going to this place for years. Lovely coffee stop with lovely staff. Great coffee and my sister swears they make the best iced chai in Brooklyn. They're also located right next to the G and have space to sit with your drink if you need to wait for the next train.
This is my favorite local coffee shop - unbeatable combination of amazing drinks and genuinely kind people.
The baristas here are very welcoming and friendly and consistent with their drink making. This place sells their own fresh squeeze orange juice and my favorite drink is their hojicha maple latte.
They have a lot of pastries to choose from but also have a board that lists the other fresh food options.
