I purchased a Halloween roll and it is now half the size it used to be. They also don’t taste as good as they were before.

I used to order from this restaurant all the time for many years. But lately it became mostly disappointing. Last time I ordered sashimi lunch, taste of sashimi was awful, I had to take it back to get a refund. And today I ordered sashimi separately, $4 each. For $34 dollars portion was so small, and sashimi was mostly cucumber and very little fish. This place became very dissapointing! !
Fantastic food outstanding service 👌

The restaurant is located in the Midwood section of Brooklyn. They prepare Japanese cuisine. They have an additional location in Brooklyn. Soups, salads, appetizers, sushi, sashimi, bento boxes, beverages and desserts are available. I ordered a salmon teriyaki bento box. The salmon was very dry and tasteless. The California roll was not made well. It fell apart and was very chewy. The sashimi bento box included pieces that were too thick and not conducive to chewing. Friendly and helpful staff.

I recently ordered from this restaurant for a business lunch, and I was very satisfied as were my guests. The sushi was incredibly fresh, and the special rolls were delicious. I highly recommend them the next time you’re in the area and have a craving for sushi

I usually don’t write reviews, but I feel this experience needs to be shared. I always was ordering sushi from them, and unfortunately, it was a complete disaster. The taste was even worse — not fresh at all. Within hours, every single one of us was sick, experiencing stomach issues and diarrhea.
Food safety and freshness should be the number one priority at any restaurant, especially one serving raw fish..

I really wanted to like Mitoushi, but the experience was pretty disappointing. We went with a group of 7 friends, and right from the start the service was disorganized. Three out of the seven people at our table received the wrong orders, and in my case, my dish was incorrect three separate times. Each time they brought out a replacement, it was still wrong. At that point, it felt like the staff wasn’t paying attention at all.
The service overall was poor. There was only one server for the entire dining room, and you could tell they were completely overwhelmed. Meanwhile, the two owners were running around the restaurant, but not actually helping or checking in with guests. With a full place, it created an atmosphere of chaos instead of hospitality.
As for the food, yes, the fish was fresh, but the sushi itself was very standard, nothing that stood out compared to countless other sushi spots in Brooklyn. The pricing, however, was way above average. $6 for a single piece of sushi is excessive, especially for food that isn’t elevated in any unique way. Our final bill was over $300 for just some standard rolls, noodles, a salad, soups, one beer, and a few basic sushi rolls. For that kind of price point, the service and quality should be exceptional, and it just wasn’t.
Overall, Mitoushi feels overpriced and poorly managed. While the ingredients are fresh, the execution, service, and value aren’t there. There are plenty of other sushi options in Brooklyn that deliver better experiences for much less money. Sadly, I won’t be returning.
