This has to be a front for a drug operation. The breakfast tacos are good but with two baffling caveats - there is NO salt available on premises and they run out by 11am in the few days they are actually open (thurs-sun). Nothing about this makes sense.

Usually one taco is very filling, warm and decent. I go here somewhat regularly. Today, they were smaller, ice cold, falling apart, etc. I noticed different people cooking and at the register than normally. I am not dying to go back again. The cashiers always seem miserable here- never smile or are friendly. I know it is not the most exciting job in town but it is client-facing. I think there is room for improvement. Sorry.

I appreciate the high quality ingredients and the tortillas were fresh, but overall it was pretty bland and not very good. Similar to king david tacos but bigger. I liked the potato and egg tacos texturally. The bean taco was bland for me but filling. The salsas were a bit sad and needed a kick/acidity. The brisket taco was good, if I was in the area and needed something quickly, I’d return for that.

TLDR: Writing October 2023, Mockingbird has declined substantially over the past six months. There are cheaper places to get ripped off in the neighborhood. This place used to be great! The tacos were pricy, but the portions were generous, the service swift and friendly, and the specials were always interesting. Now the portions are inconsistent, as are the contents of the tacos. Too much cheese, eggs are stiff, bacon is too small for the taco, etc etc. Also, this morning the server opened on time, but the cook wasn’t there. When the cook finally arrived, she was rude to me- I didn’t say anything to her, but she told me I was “just gonna have to wait” with a sneer. Really brought some unnecessary hostility to my morning- she seemed upset that I showed up when they opened. The woman working the counter was very nice, though.Get a BEC at a nearby bodega, or a pastry next door at Hamlet coffee, which is fantastic. Don’t waste your time here.

I come here fairly often and I’m pleased with tacos and service but today I was left a bit disappointed. For starters my order was incorrectly taken. Service was a bit off as both server and preparer were scrambling to complete orders. I waited about 12 minutes before receiving my incorrect order. I sat down to eat my order only to find that the sauce that ties your taco together was missing.I always get a bean and cheese taco (they never disappoint) today I decided to switch things up and get a brisket taco and immediately regretted my decision. The brisket was dry and unseasoned. I wouldn’t recommend.

I’ve heard this place was good in the past but definitely went down I quality if so. Best part was the Tortilla. Bean and cheese for $6 and an iced coffee with no ice.
They may be a bit expensive but the fresh made tortillas are wonderful and the salsa is tasty too. Service is great and the new cashier they hired is very friendly.

Way too expensive for small portions. Not worth it
Maybe it's just me but this is simply just a damn good grab and go breakfast spot. Tortillas damn good, coffee good. What else do you need?

This is a perfect place for a quick grab and go breakfast! These tacos are more like mini mini burritos, one is perfect to get something substantial in your belly and two is a filling breakfast. I had the bean and cheese and the bacon, egg, and cheese.Face value they are pricy for one taco, but they use very high quality ingredients so I think this totally justifies the cost (lol rancho gordo beans, heirloom eggs, and handmade tortillas aren’t cheap y’all). Both red and green salsas are tasty but neither are spicy (come on give one of them a little kick!) I wish the bacon in my taco was crisper, but that’s just personal preference. Would recommend to a friend!
