A true hidden gem in Sunset Park. The restaurant is a little hard to find if you don't know where to look, but the food is well worth it. A great selection of Japanese entrees, sides and beverages expertly prepared. The sides change most days, so it is exciting to see what delicious food is on the menu each time you visit. The atmosphere is intimate and inviting and the staff are incredibly kind. Always a pleasure enjoying a meal here or taking it to go.
Excellent! Even better than expected. Cute little store run by a Japanese mom and pop. They were very friendly and happy, greeting me as I came in and left. Food was excellent- cooked with heart, very tasty home cooking and authentic, better than larger restaurants. We had the oyako don, karaage salad, futomaki, potato salad, and chicken katsudon- all were delicious. We will definitely be back and highly recommend.

Indoor seating consists of a small lunch counter so it’s best not to linger too long after your meal. Otherwise order takeout and enjoy your lunch by the pier. Staff and chef are welcoming and friendly despite the stress of the lunchtime crush.

Got the chicken katsu curry and it’s very filling and pick up after we called in was quick and staff friendly. I toke it home the next day and left it in a fridge somewhere else and for a few moments I was so upset I wouldn’t be able to finish it because it was that good. I liked the side salad i got as well. Store was clean and bright I hope I can come again soon.

The cashier was extremely rude. Not only did she not welcome us in she ignored us the entire time. We were clearly confused talking about looking at the menu wondering if we were to order first and then sit down or sit down and order first. While we were asking her and about to place our order she welcomed another party in who clearly knew how to order. They sat and then ordered with familiarity. The whole time she just ignored us and glared at us. We were waiting to order and the entire time she was extremely rude and refused to repeat our order total. We paid cash and she didn’t even confirm our total and the amount we gave her or even ask us if we were taking it go. She did not thank us for the order and even gave attitude when I asked for the receipt. This place is located in the annex of the Brooklyn Army Terminal and I believe most customers are employees working in the area. The rest of the staff seemed nice and created a nice atmosphere. Expect for this cashier she handed me the food and didn’t even say thank you. I caught her glaring multiple times. Decent prices for the area, next time would definitely come and sit down to directly talk to the other staff. She was wearing a sweater from one of the high schools in Brooklyn, and honestly she was pretty rude to the next people in line too.
