Great bagels and cream cheese options at a very simple and unassuming neighborhood bagel place. Best service I’ve ever gotten at a bagel place where the person was patient and smiling instead of rushing us.

Any reviewer here who left fewer than 5 stars is just a visiting tourist who has no concept of how important this institution is to Montague Street and Brooklyn Heights. It wouldn’t even be the Heights without Hot Bagels.

Nothing fancy. Little underground shop with fresh bagels starting at $1.75 as of writing. Egg and cheese was good but nothing special.

Low key neighborhood gem. Expect loaded bagels and no frills whatsoever.

My favorite bagel spot in Downtown Brooklyn! They always have freshly made bagels with the most delicious flavored cream cheese. The price is budget friendly and different flavored cream cheese never disappoints. Workers are friendly and nice. Order online to avoid the lines in store. Highly recommend!

A dumpy place with stale bagels that literally hurt your jaw to finish. Sad. It was good the first time we went but been repeatedly bad after. A good location.

Just ate there for the first time. Very delicious. They have so many different cheeses. The pumpkin, veggie cream, and jalapeño were all so good!

Fast, delicious, cheap, NY bagel right by Brooklyn side of Brooklyn bridge in quiet neighborhood.

Bagels are generally really great. Sometimes the line is super long and it can take a little while to get your order, but the wait has never felt unreasonable. Sometimes they don’t put cream cheese on both sides of the bagel which is like… come on. But I keep coming back!

They used to be a lot better. Prices are higher than many others. I find my favourite bagel stores in the Forest Hills section of Queens are considerably better…Brooklyn Heights is very overrated-far from the greatest area for shopping.

I wish so much that somebody would buy this place and put a clean nice bagel store there. It is absolutely disgusting.. I walked in this morning as 6:30 as they opened and it was obvious that they did not clean up from the night before. There were sticky stuff on the counter with flies all over the place, and the place is just dirty. they didn't even take out the coffee filters in the machines from the night before . The guy who opened the store was wearing a filthy dirty shirt. At 6:30 in the morning how is it? OK to have a food establishment looking like this? Especially because I think they just re-opened after being closed by having violations. The people in our neighborhood are financially comfortable and I'm sure the space would do so much better if they had someone who cared about it. What a shame.!!

Wouldn’t return. Tofu scallion cream cheese was inedible. Soggy scallion bleh. Couldn’t eat at all.

Real simple place! Order your bagel and get going. Generous in their cream cheese! Got a plain toasted bagel with vegetable cream cheese, super soft bagel!!
