Montero’s used to be my favorite bars. I’ve spent thousands of dollars here over the years—on drinks, pool, and karaoke. Nighttime vibes were always solid.
But it’s changed. The Saturday afternoon bartender is regularly late, and I was recently charged $7 for a seltzer water on a $30 tab. When I didn’t tip enough—on overpriced water and bad service—I was called out for it.
If this is how they treat regulars during slow hours, I’m out. Disappointing to see a favorite spot go downhill because of alienating service. I didn’t end up shooting pool, chugged my beers and water to leave as soon as possible and enjoy my time ANYWHERE ELSE
Nothing beats karaoke nights with Amethyst!
Closed early :(
To be fair. The bar seems nice. But I it’s a racist. Im still waiting to sing. I’ve been 4 Thursday and my sounds have been skipped. Im writing this while my song is being skipped.
Montero's is a fun bar which is wild because it hosts karaoke 2 or 3 times a week. I love the vibe here, but when it gets crowded unfortunately it's hard to get a drink because how packed the bar gets. Really great time tho and fun vibes.
I originally gave this spot a 5 star review but I had to bring it down. I’m so sorry. I usually don’t even do reviews. Closed a whole 2 hours earlier. Was told that the times listed online vary? By that much???
Dive bar with a pool table
Perfect Bar.
Has history, character, and charm.
Frank McCourt writes of this spot in “Teacher Man” as well as its owner.
That owners son, Pepe now captains this institution, and runs a tight ship.
One of the only places to get an Estrella … Gallego beer!
I like it there. It’s a classic spot. But….there’s no songs by Pavement for karaoke ?

Small, crowded, stinky bar where there were 30 people in line to sing karaoke. On top of that, the rudest old man (who I assume was the owner) came and screamed at me for vaping when I wasnt even vaping. He threatened to kick me out and wouldn’t even let me get a word in to defend myself. 0 stars if i could.
Like doing karaoke in your friend’s basement
Cash only, every beer is $7, great selection. I went on karaoke night and for probably the first time ever, every person who went up to sing did a great job. Pool is only $1 and they have quarters at the bar. Will stop back here if I'm in the area again.

Bartender from Croitia is great but the place looks like a homeless shelter.
It's cash only so look out for that, but otherwise this bar is a dang blast! Fun karaoke, cool bartenders, chill space. Y'all. Place jams.
