I have been shopping at Kiwi for nearly 20 years. I will not any longer, and I will push friends to reconsider as well.
I finally started taking note of their frequent price hikes and it's clear to me that this is not a business that is invested in preserving the community that has supported its growth.
Please consider shopping at Horseraddish Market which is literally 4 blocks away.
Since COVID I just assumed Kiwi's never-ending hikes were just a reality of selling healthier foods in an expensive market like NYC. I was shocked to discover Horseraddish--a store with far less foot traffic and visibility in our neighborhood--selling the same items as Kiwi and Food Town for sometimes several dollars less. Clearly it's possible, and we should be supporting businesses that are trying.
Kiwi's produce pricing isn't terrible, but it's not that great either...and it's rarely organic or fresh. Things spoil quickly, as if Mr. Kiwi can't quickly sell through their stock. Horseraddish has organic and sustainable options that are significantly cheaper.
BUT...the price gauging of staples is completely unacceptable. The prices of milk, coffee, cereal, eggs, etc at Kiwi should be illegal, and I will be sending a complaint to Julia Salazar's office about price gauging at this location. It may not be a crime yet in this city, but what a perfect example of why it should be.
We need to push back against businesses who are taking more from our neighborhood than they are contributing. I encourage everybody who cares about our community to make better choices.
It's a shame.
Fell off 2020
Limited supplies and expensive. Great, if you’re in a hurry. There’s a Food Bazaar a few feet away on Myrtle, with a greater variety and better pricing. Good luck!
Fruits, veggies, smoothies, anything you are looking for, with REASONABLE PRICES , best part open 24 hrs is an A+
They offer reasonable prices. The only negative is not being offered an itemized receipt. When I returned the next day, and went through the printed receipt, I was confused about what item cost what. All produce items are labeled as produce, so you have to pay attention before paying, and document, or take pictures.
Usually I love coming here but I just purchased a Salad got home and it reeked so bad. But in store it says it was packed yesterday. Guess they don’t make these salads in house there’s no way it was packed yesterday smelling like two weeks ago.
Mr Kiwis is the best! Best produce and juice! Favorite place to get groceries in the world
Great prices on produce and eggs. Other things are standard high BK prices. High quality selection. Juice bar!
Top tier bodega
One of my favorite places to get a juice and quality produce. Check dates on products you buy. The produce is fresh

Half way between a local grocery and the perfect 24/7 corner store. Best prices of produce, and very impressive selections of drinks and snacks you would want to grab on your way home from a night out!
Very fresh produce priced cheaper than anywhere I’ve seen in the city. Other goods are on the more expensive side, but it’s worth coming to just for a wide array of fruits and veg
Myrtle fruit stand
Great juice
Fresh juice available at all hours and since it’s 24 hours, a great spot for late night grocery run with a solid selection of vegetables & fruits. You can get fresh lions mane, oyster, shiitake and chestnut mushrooms here as well as a variety of fresh whole bean coffee and snacks, beer and more.
One of my solid BK late night staples.
