Food is okay, nothing outstanding. My family used to come here a lot, on a weekly basis, and we always tip them well, around 20%. Fair to say they know me. Today I ordered take out, but couldn't find a parking. Called and kindly asked if they could walk 50ft ahead of the store, it was around 11:00am. They refused. They said, they could only do in front of their store, and not even 1 more ft more than that. I walked in to pick up myself with my kids. There was only one customer waiting for take out, 3 waiter/waitress. Store was pretty empty. This will be my last time at this restaurant. There are plenty other places on 8th ave where they would want business from customers.

If you are into Chinese style steak this spot is great. Chinese style steak isnt focus on beef's flavor but overall flavor with the sauce included. I think the black pepper sauce complemented the dish well and was really tasty. My only doubt is the steak was extremely juicy like that of USDA prime grade steak which shouldn't have been possible given that I only spent 29 for the plate. I'm pretty sure they used some dark technology but since it is all speculation no knock against them.

I ordered a black pepper steak from them. I tasted the sour taste of A1 sauce mixed with black pepper, which was very sour and spicy. It was different from the same steak I had last time. The steak sauce this time was very unpalatable. I will not go back to this restaurant again.

Such a sleeper on the 8 ave strip. They cook a steak perfectly. The black Pepper sauce is nicely balanced and addictive. The bread is soft yet crispy with an interesting flavor.

Seeing the hotplate dish on Google review and curious about trying it out so I came here. The place is very convenient and easy to get to. Small tidy restaurant with so many different decorations on the wall. Did a walk in and got seated right away. They didn't have the food that I wanted so I ordered something else. Food came out fast, good service from the staff. They take cash or zelle, very interesting type of payment (first time seeing a place taking zelle).

The food is so good especially for the price. Pepper steak rice always hits the spot. Interior has nice small decorations as well.

Arrived with a party of 11, was seated quickly with the waitresses linking tables to keep most of the group together. Service was fine initially, however things really hit the fan when I was served my food.

I ordered the Black Pepper Sirloin, the server came with a chart showing the different colors, and I physically selected the desired doneness by pointing to medium rare .

When my steak came out it cut it open to find that it was actually purple. Shared the news with my table, shared a few chuckle, then notified the staff of the issue.

The staff looked at the steak, and tried to tell me that what I was seeing was in fact medium rare (important to note that everyone at the table ordered the same and none of theirs bled purple).
After a minute of them trying to gaslight me and my table, they offered to take to back to the grill to finish it, to which I accepted.

Now if all that wasn't enough of a kick, it came out a few minutes later with the meat clearly shrunken in size by at least half. The plate too hot to touch. The meat gray as concert. They had clearly chucked my steak into the microwave.

I choose not to make this a bigger issue as the restaurant had filled up at this point. Admittedly the food tasted fine, the sauce they poured on top of everything was pretty awesome.
But splitting the bill at the end alongside a undeservingly chucky tip definitely did not leave a good taste in my mouth.

All this happened nearly a year ago. I would hope their services improved by now but I will not be coming back to verify.

tldr.
Staff tried to gaslight me into thinking my purple steak was medium rare, then fed it to the microwave; shrinking the ~$20 piece of meat in half.

Pros
-Good atmosphere and decor
-steak sauce went well with the noodle and egg

Cons
-Raw steak
-Gaslighting
-Chef Microwave

Now: I am very happy that the boss has taken the suggestion. The food and service have been upgraded this time, and have been changed to 5-star reviews~
A year and a half ago: I have always liked this restaurant. The food tastes good and the service is pretty good. But the last time I went there, it only accepted cash and then tax was charged. Everyone knows the purpose of only accepting cash. I have been going there in the past few years. I have never collected tax. This one-star review is for the store owner. Why don't you consider whether cash is not taxed or you can pay tax by swiping a card. Changing the method will be more fair to regular customers and waiters.
