Nick & Sons Bakery completely blew me away. I stopped in thinking I’d just grab a quick bagel and maybe a pastry, and ended up discovering what is now easily one of my favorite bakeries in the neighborhood.

I tried both the plain and everything bagels, and they were excellent—great chew, deeply satisfying, and clearly made with care. But the croissants are what really stole the show. The flakiness alone is something special: delicate, shattering layers...
Edit: I'm a monkey. My original review was based on cutting and trying the bread stale without reheating it. Despite how it looks, it is actually a pretty good sourdough, airy and chewy. It doesn't have the bigger holes that some might be used to though.

Pastries were good, really liked the plain croissant. However, the sourdough was a huge disappointment. It is truly abysmal. It is soooo dense... similar to the first...
We have been going to Nick and Son's since they open their bakery in Spring Lake, NJ. They offer the very best of everything which includes their delicious Croissants , breads, danishes, scones and world class coffee. The bakers and staff are top notch and offer world class service. During the holidays they offer the best pies ever. Don't miss out on the very best bakery in Monmouth County.
