I am quite particular about my coffee. I love Neapolitan-style espresso, and have a hard time finding that style of roasting here in the States. It is a very easy style to screw up - aka overcharr the beans, too oily, too much robusto in the mix, etc.
Not the case with Nicoletti.
First of all - the ordering process is very easy. Order online, select the coffee you want and the bag size - they roast their in-house coffee before sending out your order! (versus what's sitting on the shelf). It is the freshest coffee I've had through the mail!
The coffee itself - the Neapolitan roast - the best in America. Absolutely perfect, without being burnt or the beans too oily.
You want high quality coffee? You cannot miss on Nicoletti!

Part of me wants to be "angry" that Nicoletti has raised prices at least 4 times in the past 12 months. Obviously the economy is a talking point/big reason. Admittedly I've tried other fresh roast whole beans at lower price points only to come back to Nicoletti. Why? Well, for one, I have found some online vendors only claim to be fresh roast. It's so obvious the beans are not fresh and that some sellers are slapping a sticker on the bag. I end up wasting so many pulls trying to dial in a stale bean. In reality the Nicoletti Old School bean is in line with current prices. No tax, shipping included, and my setup pulls consistently perfect shots. That is a time AND money saver. Obviously taste is subjective, and you may not prefer Nicoletti's options, but if you do, rest assured that the beans are as fresh as the stamp on the bag. You can't put a price on consistency and honesty!
The coffee we make with the 1972 Old School roast is bar none; There is nothing that could be done to make for a better coffee. After trying beans from all over the boroughs we’ve concluded these to be the absolute best. Fantastic value for the price.
Not to mention we feel extremely welcomed in the store and the owner makes an effort to get to know us. I’ll have to do better myself!

The best of the best. Their Napoli beans in my Jura make a macchiato that beats anything I can buy in a store at a fraction of the price. The beans are always freshly roasted, their prices are very reasonable and the service from the staff always top notch. One of those instances where you're rewarded for supporting a local business, they're the best!
