We were walking around in Williamsburg and stumbled across Northside Bakery. This is a Polish bakery, complete with a hot food bar, market items and baked goods. The hot food is ordered by the pound, and varies daily. We tried the perogies, sausage, potatoes and meatballs. Our favorite was the sausage. For the baked goods, we tried the prune donut and the coconut donut. Both were sweet but light. The prune filling is very strong, so you should only try if you are a prune fan. Overall, a nice and different experience for all. Staff all seemed to be Polish, so it seems pretty authentic

So, I bought a few things from them, and I liked it. Today I bought jelly buns with no jelly. Picture attached, cone that has more salt than sugar and a stale croissant. I tried to call them and politely advise to talk to a baker. I was told by a woman with Eastern European accent (just like mine :) that manager isn't there, she doesn't care, and if I want to, I can leave a 1 star review. And that is what I am doing. For a future, if a polite regular customer calls with a concern, you listen to a concern instead of telling him that manager isn't there and you don't care

Embarking on a gastronomic journey to Northside Bakery in Brooklyn's Greenpoint, I am reminded of the richness of Polish cuisine and the comfort of artisanal bread. Their Nassau Ave and N8 Street locations are sanctuaries for bread lovers, where the aroma of freshly baked European loaves lingers like a warm embrace. The shelves teem with a cornucopia of bread that sings of tradition and quality. Each visit promises more than just sustenance; it's a cultural experience. The bakery's homemade soups and daily hot specials are not just meals but a revelation of flavors at reasonable prices. The service, reminiscent of an old-world charm, is brisk and no-nonsense, ensuring that every moment is dedicated to the enjoyment of fine food.Their pastry selection is a testament to their culinary prowess, where each cabbage roll, potato latke, and pastry, especially those adorned with powdered sugar, is a crafted masterpiece. It's an authentic Polish encounter wrapped in the hustle of New York life. The fusion of local tastes from Poland with a twist of American preference results in a delightful confluence that tantalizes the palate. As a patron of Northside Bakery, I revel in the authenticity and the effortless blend of two worlds. It's not just a place to eat; it's a venue where every bite tells a story, where every visit becomes a treasured memory. This bakery isn't merely a stop on my itinerary; it has become a cornerstone of my culinary experiences in the city.Vegetarian options: Visit Northside Bakery's website to explore their vegetarian options in the online catalog.Dietary restrictions: Northside Bakery is mindful of dietary needs, offering kosher certified options and adhering to a trans fat-free policy. went in and bought a delicious looking pastry for a very good price. If your looking to have a thorough stomach cleaning make sure to visit here because that pastry ended up giving me food poisoning.

Came in here after eating some falafel to get a dessert. Wow this place has so much to offer. I settled on an eclair that was satisfying and not too sweet. I would totally return if I'm in the neighborhood as they have an extensive offering of food and desserts. They even serve coffee and have a small non perishable grocery offering all the way from Poland. I loved listening to customers and staff chatting in Polish while ogling at all the desserts. Prices are incredibly reasonable. And staff are friendly and efficient.

AMAZING! Lunch buffet $9/lb. The polish food is SO GOOD. The pierogies were pillowy and al dente, the stews so good and hearty for a rainy fall day. Fridays are extra bountiful

Will be back! This food tastes like home… I feel like a nonna or a mom cooks everything and drops it off to the store haha. Whoever is cooking definitely is putting care in their dishes. Everything I got was packed with complementing flavors. Their pastries are beautiful and delicious but you have to try their hot foods!
