Norwinds was a blast from the past.. definitely will go back.. Been looking for an Authentic Puerto Food Restaurant and this spot hit the SPOT.. the food was like abuelas!! Grew up in Buswick so it took me back ! Genuinely recommend going to check it out.. also had a DJ..

Visiting new york, decided to try this restaurant. The empanadas and alcapurias are absolutely amazing. The fish in garlic sauce delicious. I give it a 10!

Beautiful display of the PR culture. I loved seeing the PR flags throughout the restaurant. The restaurant is large as it has outside seating and a second floor. Friendly staff and good food. Authentic PR food with such good flavor. Pricing is good as well.

I have been in the business for 25+ years and one thing is for certain and two things for sure is that I’ve never walked into a place that I’ve had a dinner party of 11 that had to drink out of cans and plastic cups. Your servers should be putting the drinks in cups in back of the house and serving it to the table. Don’t bring me a can to the table and then say oh do you want a cup or do you want ice? How about a straw? How about you bring my drink in a cup with ice with a straw like other restaurants? Seems very lazy seems like a place that’s cutting cost in the wrong places. Seeing the cans I told everyone let’s just eat dinner no apps. It really does affect a person’s perception. I can understand if it’s a bar and all you do is have come and go people, but if you have groups of six and more, you should have a stash of glasses in the back. And if you’re cutting cost because your staff is breaking the cups…..clip them you are FIRED you should not be working in this field thank you. I have seen a lot of these reviews and I think the ones that praise the food have never really gone elsewhere to eat. Some of the food selections are good and some are OK. Chef needs to tighten up on his meat temperature skills.

Your steps of service is very important.

We attended a friend’s birthday dinner and sat in the outdoor space which was great because we were a group of 12. I had the tostones when shredded chicken and chicken mofongo… both were delicious and the sauce was amazing. I recommend ordering rice on the side to soak up all that flavor. I also had the Lychee martini which was delicious. The portions are on the smaller side which I don’t mind. Our total with drinks and food was about 50$ per person. The gratuity was included.

Some of the food was reheated, for lunch. Empanadas were good. Bacalaitos were pasable. You can tell when eating morcilla it was reheated. Mofongo was ok. Nice looking place. Person in our group said best part of meal was the beer. Had high hopes as it is hard to find good PR food.

The food was ok def, not worth the shocking $300 bill for 4 people with a last min add on who sat for maybe 10 min at restaurant. Tip was included at a genrous $45 dollar, for subpar slow service. The music that was playing came on/off as the DJ was figuring out the system. This place serves traditional Spanish food not worth more then maybe $120. In this place we each had 2 drinks and 1 main dish that barely kept us full. Each drink came at a base of $16 and charged extra for $4 per flavor. A cuban sandwhich and yuca fries and 2 drinks should not be 80 each. Would def not suggest or ever go back as this was price gouging at its finest.
