One of the finest cannolis you'll ever have, gives you a peace of the east side all the way on the west... Brings me back to the good old days when pastries were made with love, not just diabetes.... This stuff will make ya grandma smile , chef's kiss???

The Napoleon here is simply magnificent! I highly recommend giving it a try. What sets them apart is their conservative use of sugar, resulting in desserts that aren't overly sweet, allowing you to appreciate the other ingredients—an uncommon trait in many other bakeries. Also prices are very reasonable.

All the breads and pastries are amazing here. Whole grains and Polish style cookies are my favorite.

i drive 45 minutes to get here that's all you need to know. It's good stuff. I like the cake and bread amazing quality and the prices are a great. I know there are two girls working there one is really nice the other not so much. She's not mean but you can tell she's just there to do her job and go home lol. Which isn't a problem just surprising to her act that way knowing how the other girl is.

This Bakery has the best cheese cake in New York. Also find sourdough spelt bread and rye bread for traditional Polish nourishing sustenance. The people are super friendly as well and its open till 8pm. This place is a must!

This bakery is absolutely terrific. I have purchased some of the best bread I've ever had from this establishment. I wish I had bought more slices of cake to bring home with me because everything was so moist, delectable, and absolutely mouth-watering.

Some of the greatest almond croissants in the city. It's definitely a place to go if you kove sweets!

I stumbled upon Piekarnia Staropolska during my visit to Greenpoint today. I took one look in the window and saw the poppyseed streudel and babka and that was it...The memories of my babe who was born in Warsaw and could bake deliciousness in a snap of a finger and the bakery on 13th Street,Brooklyn that my grandparents used to buy these delicacies when I was younger, crystallized immediately.I entered the small shop and took it all in.. the breads: challah, wheat, rye, pumpernickel.. just wonderful.I was really interested in the babka and there were two kinds to order; blueberry and cheese and plain cheese.I was so excited that I called my mom to let her know about this wonderful find.I decided on the cheese babka, bargain at $7.50. I was pretty stoked and told the two employees about my grandma born in Poland, etc..and.. I.. got.. nothing. Bupkus. Then other patrons came in and spoke in Polish and there was conversation taking place.I hate to agree with other reviewers, but this is not a friendly shop. Unfortunately, these days having a great shop with delicious baked goods doesn't amount to much.Hopefully, on my next visit, Old Poland will be replaced by a newer and friendlier bakery.Additionally, Warsaw is on my travel bucket list and my cousin and me are planning to retrace our grandma's lineage.*3 stars for beautiful baked goods, minus 2 stars for unpleasantness.

Layout/atmosphere*Small shop; not everything listed on the general board above the counter is available everydayFood/drink*Cheese danish - Good; huge*Paczki with jelly (glazed) - Good; more jam than jelly which worked better because it didn’t spill out after a bite
