Dining at the Outback Steakhouse on 86th Street in Brooklyn is akin to embarking on a culinary walkabout through a desolate gastronomic landscape. The establishment’s attempt to channel the Australian outback results in an experience as barren as the desert itself.

The signature Bloomin’ Onion arrives resembling a fossilized relic, its once-crisp petals now wilted and greasy. The steak, purportedly the star of the show, is a masterclass in how to extract flavor from beef, leaving a dry, lifeless slab that even the most generous pour of sauce cannot resuscitate.

Service oscillates between indifferent and inattentive, with water refills requiring multiple requests, as if each glass were being sourced from a distant billabong. The ambiance, a cacophony of faux-Aussie decor and lackluster cleanliness, offers little respite from the culinary calamity unfolding on the plate.

In a city teeming with vibrant dining options, this Outback Steakhouse stands as a stark reminder that not all who wander are lost—some are simply searching for a decent meal.

Parking: This is a midsize parking lot that is adequate on most nights.

To be short:
The organization of the services is terrible. Too long wait.
The waiter tried his best, though.
Food is mediocre. Nothing special.

The food is not that bad even though the the bake potato was soggy. So yeah it was like a sugary potato like baked potato And also the teenagers. They are right but I saw one girl crying there and she was trying to work but they were trying to pick on her. I hope she gets the best of like a blessing and VIPs. I pray that does happen..

Vegetarian options: Not bad. It was good. It was kind of well done..

My hubby and I visited this location. Our server Katherine was fabulous. She was friendly and courteous from start to finish. The food was good, however I don't recommend the Bloomin Onion.

We always would order from here since the summer but lately idk what’s going on but the past 3 times our orders weren’t made right, forgetting sides, etc. I’ve always loved Outback in general but sadly can’t say it for this location. We were told last time we ordered that they were out of the Blooming sauce and with certain meals, the sauce makes or break it lol. I specifically called and spoke to a girl tonight , I wanted to make sure they had the sauce left otherwise I wouldn’t order the Blooming Chicken. The girl assured me that “yes”, they have it… Guess what happened when I received my order? NO Blooming Sauce! (Now for the 4th time.) You can’t make this stuff up!! Lol. My boyfriend didn’t get the side he asked for and the croutons in my salad were soggy. Our food showed up cold. I never complain about restaurant service, I used to be a server so I know how tough the industry can be but seriously? If a customer specifically goes out of their way to CALL and ask if you have something and you say yes, and then I don’t get it? Thats bad… sadly we won’t be ordering from here ever again at this location.

Hostess followed me and my child everytime we went to the bathroom and pretended to clean up. I would go into the bathroom with my child and she would follow us in after, pick up a broom and pretended to clean and once me and my child left she would leave also. Could've been a coincidence the first time but definitely not the 2nd. We came when it was busy so definitely wasn't a coincidence if you're whole job is to seat people and ya know be a hostess.

Also took forever to get our meals, ended up leaving without desert cause apparently Outback is making the desert from scratch in the kitchen and you gotta wait the entirety of your meal for it only for it not the served at the end. Wonderful.

Also whoever is cooking it up in the kitchen need their blood pressure check, the salt content in the food would've make the dead sea jealous.

Our waiter was good tho, no fault on him.

Had to flag the server down multiple times. Drinks didn't get delivered, salads came before the appetizer. It almost felt as if we were a burden to the server. Every time something went wrong, they looked at their iPad to see what was the matter instead of just fixing the problem.
