Good place, classic atmosphere, the only thing is a little expensive ? I bought 4 empanadas, they were 24 dollars, I don't know if it's okay for others!!!

I tried two of their empanadas. For $6.50 each, they were quite small. The empanada shells tasted like they were made with whole grain flour. Different from the norm and it gave them an earthy texture. They were also made with avocado oil, which was noticeable. The portobello mushroom empanada was tasty. The mushrooms were very tender. The smoky dipping sauce that came with it was super flavorful. I also tried the guava and cheese. It was sweet with a nice balance of both ingredients. This restaurant is located in the front room of Gaia NoMaya, which is a community and event space with lots of activities like yoga, meditation, and dance. The decor is lovely with tons of plants, dried flowers, bright colors, raw edged wooden tables, and fabric couches. The empanadas weren't bad. Definitely unique taste and texture, but felt a tad overpriced.

Don't order here !!!!. I ordered an ajiaco with arepa and it never arrived, they never responded and they never returned my money. It was a robbery! Terrible service.

We found the prices very high compared to the quality and quantity of food. There was an error on our invoice

Pretty overpriced for what you get, it was not the authentic taste of Colombia. Got a soup and it barely had any spices or taste, had the smallest piece of meat in it. Service was even worse, took forever to order (considering it was almost completely empty in there) and had to waive down an employee to get our check finally. I never go through the effort of writing reviews on google, but this was such a bad experience that I have to say: Do not waste your money and time here.

While there was an abundance of food options at Bryant Park Winter Village, what caught my eye was the yuca fries from Palenque BBQ. I've eaten plain yuca fries before, but Palenque's yuca fries took it to a whole new level with a rainbow of toppings. Sharing these fries among four people was the right move. Our serving included about eight thick fries, served piping hot, and smothered in creamy and spicy red and green sauces. Topped with cotija cheese, the fries nearly made a complete meal. Served in a flimsy cardboard box with wooden toothpicks, the yuca fries were difficult to eat, especially because they were so thick (and some were a bit tough). Fortunately, we had grabbed plenty of napkins and inhaled the fries right on the spot. I'm definitely glad I gave the fries a try!

Nasty food! As a Colombian this was a huge disappointment. Beef empanada was disgusting - the beef was mashed into the same consistency as the potato. The empanada dough was made of grains and bland. The yuca was rock hard and not ripe. Food was thrown away after half a bite and money wasted...I will never come here again. Que asquerosidad!

Just had to write about Palenque in Brooklyn - this place is a gem! Walked in one day craving something hearty and found myself in this super chill Colombian spot. The vibe? Totally laid-back and friendly, like you're just hanging out at a friend's kitchen. Now, the empanadas here are legit the best I've had. Crispy on the outside, and the inside? Oh man, so flavorful and delicious. And the arepas, wow, they're like fluffy, tasty clouds of goodness. You can really tell they care about using fresh, organic stuff.Every time I go, it's like a mini escape to Colombia. The staff always greets you with a smile, and it's just such a warm, welcoming place. Seriously, if you're around Brooklyn and want some awesome Colombian food, hit up Palenque. You won't regret it!
