Highly recommend the Yuzu Mint Breeze, it was so good I finished it before I could walk out the door!

Food is great! Baristas are kind, space is cozy and clean. But the iced matcha is a pass. Ordered it a few times and didn’t like a single one. It was lukewarm, flavorless, or clumpy.

I really loved this cafe! I’m currently studying for the LSAT and I’ve been stressed at home, but this friendly inviting cafe helped me feel more at ease. I also had such a lovely conversation with the barista, I believe his name was Mike! Made a killer latte too! Will be my go to study spot.

Disgusting matcha ever
There’s one dude - I don’t know his name but he makes the most disgusting matcha EVER!!!! He didn’t even mix it with proper whisk and there were chunks in the bottom. LEARN HOW TO MAKE MATCHA!! Other dude is great (with a beard and earrings), best matcha ever. Love him down!!!

Cozy and local Café their coffee is good. Their bakery was OK. Definitely gonna go again..
Honestly, croissant was mid (maybe just needed to be warmed up?). This 5 star review is because I lost my car parking in the area and the server with the pencil gauges let me borrow his phone charger and was extremely kind. Thank you sir.
I really enjoy their half off deal everything on Wednesdays after noon. Their coffees are great, but I’m honestly there for their vegan croissants. They’re the best I’ve had in NYC and they’re quite rare. I really appreciate them.
Dietary restrictions: I’ve seen 3 vegan croissant options — plain, chocolate, and blueberry.

Charging $8 for watery premade chai from a carton should be illegal.

Typical Brooklyn coffee shop: Over-priced coffee and rude staff. I don’t know what version of the manager some of these 5 star reviews are getting (probably friends) but I’ve tried this place multiple times bc it’s one of the few in the neighborhood and everytime he’s been there it’s been a very rude and unpleasant experience. Won’t be going back. If you’re in the neighborhood, Der Pioneer is far better.

I originally avoided this place for a while, as it was a chain replacing a small, one-off business, but I quickly realized I was missing a gem. Great, calm atmosphere that matches the one of the late Parade Café. Feels local and the staff is very nice, with delicious pastries and sandwiches.
Vegetarian options: Great selection of pastries.
Parking: Classic Brooklyn street parking, nothing special. Honestly, if you need to drive to reach this place, just go somewhere closer. There might even be another Poetica closer to you!
