Not worth a big detour but if you are in the area, it's a great spot for a quick vegan slice. Updated from previous review on 2025-03-02

There were three/four different sorts of vegan pizza, which js really nice. The two pizzas I had were good to average.

The dough is INSANE, sesame adds extra crunch! Must-try. I wish their whole menu was vegan, there’s 4-5 solid options.

the square ones were all bread not enough cheeeeeeze, the vegan pepperoni had honey on it so my non vegan bf ate it up and don’t get me wrong i did enjoy the vegan slice enough there were no crumbs left. also if you’re under 5 ft 4 inches wear some platform shoes cuz the top shelf is difficult to see.

probably the best slices in greenpoint, but unfortunately the experience can be held back by frustrating service. namely the "shift change" needs to be addressed. if you're unlucky enough to find yourself in line when they change shifts, be prepared to spend the next 20+ minutes waiting. I understand that changing the back of house can take time to set everything up, but what happens is that you have hungry customers stagnant in line staring at pizza in the window that's already been made, giving flak to the register person who has said "just 10 more minutes" multiple times. it's not even their fault but you can tell they're uncomfortably trying to avoid customers because of how frustrating the entire experience is for everyone. I dont know a single other restaurant that deals with this issue, but it really sours what could be an amazing experience.

The slices are a good size and great price (for a specialty slice shop). Amazing vegan options, and haven’t eaten inside but looks spacious.

Just go somewhere else. The pizza sucks and the service is even worse.

Crust was super thin and crispy, and the pizza was hot out of the oven. Interesting combination of honey and pepperoni

Actually what happened was your POS (point of sale and not the other POS) system didn’t communicate my order (and only my order) to the pizza makers 3 feet away, at least that is what your cashier said. When my wife went to go find out why we’re waiting 30 minutes and people who arrived way after us were eating their pizza, your cashier said that we never paid… strike one… 15 minutes later, maybe he did it on purpose thinking my wife would just say screw it and give up, he figured out we did pay and that no one gave us the order…. Strike two Then instead of saying I am very sorry, dude never apologized once, because it was obviously either the POS cashier system’s fault or ours, he gets us the absolute worst slices, everything burnt… strike three. Me, I think your pizza was really good, and on very rare occasions, it still is good, but most of the time it’s this or something like this. My kid loves pizza, but not on this day. Then it got me thinking, why is Paulie Gee’s like this and I figured it out. You go to L’Industrie, they got a longer line than you, but still manage to give you good pizza. And do you know what… the cashier is behind the pizza counter. So I figured it out for you. Why your pizza used to be really good, because I remember when the cashier was behind the counter. You probably had the best slice in BK back then. I don’t write reviews, but your staff pissed me off, were rude to my wife, and disappointed my kid. Apologies, it was a d**k move.

Did you move here from Ohio, make the trek to Greenpoint, and get a slice that everyone said you had to try? Did you tell everyone how much you loved it and then ordered Papa John’s a couple of weeks later because, Papa John’s is not bad? Does Paulie Gee’s deserve a comparison to Papa John’s? Probably not, but at least you won’t get a dry burnt slice from Papa John’s although you might be still chewing a few weeks later. Paulie Gee’s once had the perfect sourdough crust and deserved all the hype but not so much anymore. The crust isn’t as sour, or have the same texture, and it seems either like they cooked the pizza 8 hours ago expecting a surge that never came, or they tried to fill so many orders at the same time that someone pushed your pizza all the way to the back of the oven and then forgot it until they pulled all the other slices out. You know what real NY pizzerias don’t have. Cashiers. In a real NY pizza shop, everyone is making pizza. And because of that, you can get a pretty decent slice all over NY. If you see a dedicated cashier, separate from the pizza making area, you probably should leave. You want an upside down slice and don’t want to make the trek to L&B (don’t bother actually, they have similar problems as Paulie Gee’s.) go to Carmine’s on Graham. Yeah their slices might be a bit chewy, but their upside down slice is probably the closest to the way L&B was 30 years ago. How do I know? I grew up in Bensonhurst. If you’re in Williamsburg/Greenpoint, there is actually a lot of decent pizza in the neighborhood, or go get a taco. Ramirez makes a good one right around the corner. Just stay away from Franklin. No good pizza on Franklin. sLICe (in LIC) and Upside (on Manhattan) make a good sourdough crust and Traingolo (also on Manhattan) is about as old school and solid as they come in this neighborhood. No cashiers, no hype, Just real NY pizza.

The guy at the counter at 7pm today was rude while I was ordering my pizza. Then I was waiting for my order near the counter and he turned to face me, screamed my name in my ear on purpose and then laughed and said oh there you are, and did not apologize. I did not see him treating the white customers this way.

Great every time. Staple Greenpoint Pizza. Hellboy squared is the way to go. Hot honey and sesame seed bottom w pepperoni. 5.25 a slice for their premium slices.
