Interesting spot in a small chain. Overall the food was pretty good. The friend cheese dough balls were more like dessert - thing buttercream filled donut holes, but mostly warm buttercream.

Wings and chicken were good, flavorful and tasty eats. But the fries with melted cheese, despite asking about it, is actually just generic cheese sauce, and NOT acrual melted cheese...which gets to my criticism:

Service was poor. Our server clearly was either misinformed or just not paying attention/caring about his job and the kitchen wasn't on the same page either. The food came out randomly. Two dinners, but they came in 3 separate 'deliveries' spaced 5-10m apart. I got my fries, 5m later, my dinner, my partner got their dinner 10m after that. It made for an unpleasant eating experience even with otherwise ok food.

Would not return, do not recommend.

Cute spot with great ambiance! Fried chicken was the right level of crispy, and the meat was juicy. Love the Sweet and Spicy sauce, and the Bulgogi fries is a great side. Will come back!

I got the crispy fried wings with sweet & spicy level 2 to-go, walked in the rain for 15 min, and it was STILL perfectly crispy!! Ive eaten this particular brand in Korea and I’m so glad I can find it here in the US.

Updated review: They made a mistake, it was upsetting but my gf went back, cause the chicken is that good, and the person working there made things right.

We/I can really appreciate when people and businesses step up after dropping the ball. Shows character and I’m happy to give their food and service 5 stars.

Thanks Pelicana!

We entered maybe 10 minutes after they opened and there was already someone inside ordering food and a few takeout orders being prepared. I decided to bring my friend over here to try his first Korean Fried Chicken and he was not disappointed. From when we ordered food to when we left the store, our hearts were warmed by the kindness of the people working inside and the amazing food they provided. We ordered the original fried chicken and a order of the garlic wings. The person that took our order and served us food (I'm assuming the owner but I could be wrong) was so kind enough to ask what sauce we needed even when we could of gotten it ourselves. The food was amazing and I highly recommend getting the soy garlic flavor for whatever you get. Everything was super crispy and tender and it was super affordable. This place will be my new go-to for some delicious Korean fried chicken.

I had seen other pelicana locations around and had wanted to try it for a while… I was just looking to order some
crispy chicken 😋 , but when I arrived I learned they had a plethora of other delicious authentic Korean dishes, so I couldn’t help myself! the stews are amazing, perfect for a cold winter day! Great vegetarian options offered as well… and their kimchi is probably some of the most balanced and tasty I’ve had! Will be back !

The chicken is always hot and crispy. The sauces they offer are delicious and you can get them on the side. The cheese fries were amazing. The popcorn chicken was perfect as well. The wings were great. We also had the beef bulgogi over rice it was delicious as well. They have a full bar as well. Lots a seating. Spacious and clean.

Loved the food. This is a hidden gem authentic Korean restaurant that serves the Fried Chicken I enjoy in Korea.

If you are charging $2 for additional flavor and put a hint of sauce on the fried chicken, how am I supposed to taste it?

Very consistent with $2 hint of sauce on the fried chicken.

It’s okay. The one In Forest Hills is way better. This one seems to have low food quality.

As a regular at Pelicana, I felt like I had finally discovered a fried chicken spot that wasn't overpriced compared to other places in the Williamsburg/Greenpoint area. However, my last three visits have been quite disappointing. What used to be my go-to for fried chicken is now serving oversized, genetically modified chicken pieces with too much batter. During my most recent visit, several pieces were undercooked and still pink inside. Additionally, they've completely changed their French fries, which used to be thin and crispy, and now resemble KFC's wedges. Pelicana, I urge you to return to your roots!
