Came to this place on a whim and so glad I did. The server Lilo was so sweet!!!! Best recommendations — please try the Aguachile (I’m still thinking about it!). I also had the sizzling shrimp fajitas and la dama as my drink choice. Everything was perfect. Highly recommend.

Excellent, authentic Mexican food served by friendly and welcoming staff. Enjoyed the fajitas, birria and excellent margaritas. Also very reasonably priced

Prices went way up, quality went way down. This place has been officially gentrified and turned from Martha’s Cocina Mexicana to Penelope’s Mexican Bistro. Used to eat here all the time but now the food tastes awful. Birria had no flavor or sauce, plates were served with Cucumber as a side (?????), just immense lack of flavor. My sister and I each got 3 tacos and she got one margarita, total was $55. Not worth it at all and never going back.
Amazing food really recommend

Penelope’s is my go-to spot when I need a good, filling meal! I used to come here when it was called Martha’s but now it is called Penelope’s. Food is still great!! The vibes are always so chill and the food is amazing. My favorite is the shrimp fajita (the rice is so good!). And of course the elote to start!

Gentrified my fave spot. Made the most inexpensive items cost 30-40% more but without an increase in quality or portion size. Really sad.
