Great service in a relaxed atmosphere.
Two of us got cappucinos on a Sunday afternoon and they were the worst cappucinos we've ever had, and this is not an exaggeration.
I was horrified when I saw the barista pouring the milk from the pitcher into the cup. It had been oversteamed to the point that the foam had completely separated from the milk, and after pouring the milk into the espresso the barista proceeded to use a spoon to scoop the residual foam in the pitcher and place it on top of the drink. And of course the cappucinos were scalding hot since the milk had been oversteamed and tasted terrible.
The barista was extremely friendly but had no idea what he was doing. Maybe he was just covering a shift on a Sunday afternoon? I was really shocked by this experience since this cafe is so well-rated.
Mid food. Decent coffee. Overpriced. Expect to drop $9 on an iced latte. No complaints about the staff, they've very friendly and helpful.
That said, I kind of respect the hustle. It feels like poetic justice in a way, charging premium prices in a rapidly gentrifying neighborhood, and the clientele doesn’t even flinch. The place is staffed entirely by POC, so it almost feels like a quiet form of resistance. Serving avocado toasts and cheese sandwiches with a smile while hearing about these customers rave on and on about their surfing trip to Pleasant Point beach.
Very expensive for what you get. Coffee was not good at all and sandwiches were small. Bagel was tasty but again too expensive.
Charming and cozy. Great product, prices and service. My go to spot in the neighborhood. Open earlier and later than most of the cafes in the area. Service is always warm and welcoming. Highly recommend
