The food was a surprise in that everything was cooked to perfection. From the house made focaccia, through the grilled calamari, great pappardelle -first course, and well executed steak and trout. Our server was attentive, pleasant, and the overall atmosphere very convivial. Truly a hidden gem.

Atmosphere is great compared to other restaurants in bayridge. Food is great always start with fried calamari, and their bread which is made in house. Burgers are good, but I do have to say they’re super thick, so maybe make the patty a little smaller. Besides that this place is great 4.7/5 starts.

Yikes. Short rib ragu was a bowl of grease and there was a tiny fragment of a bone in mine. Kids meal of chicken and fries just tasted like grease. Risotto was a mess. Blueberries on the cheesecake were so old. There wasn’t a thing that was halfway decent and I’m so disappointed to say that we will not be back to order more.

Ordered food from here through grub hub terrible italian food. Its not even homemade. Tastes like frozen food. Stay away from this place. So much money and they cant even make decent dishes with flavor.

This place was a last minute find and I’m so grateful I walked by! I got the Napoli dish - gnocchi with sausage and mushrooms in a pink sauce. You get a great amount yet I still barely had any leftovers the next day. I also got a side of Brussels sprouts which were decent! I wouldn’t order them again but the pasta was so good that I later went back and got the spicy sausage risotto. All of the pasta and risotto is homemade and fresh. I did pick up orders both times so can’t speak on the dine-in experience but the staff I ordered from were very nice. I’m looking forward to trying more things!

Horrible experience. Small local restaurant that we had been wanting to try and decided to celebrate my birthday there. Called in afternoon and secured a reservation for 4 at 7:00 PM. Got there by 7:05 but there were no tables available. Place is small with few tables large enough to accomodate 4. Receptionist confirmed we had a reservation but said that a couple was still occupying the table they had reserved for the four of us. they asked us to please wait and even provided a chair for my wife (who has crppling arthritis and can't stand for long). Unfortunately the place was so small that there is really not anyplace to comfortabley wait. Two of us had to wait outside while my wife and I were cramed next to the door watching the couple who had "our" table showing no sign of leaving. We put up with this exptremely uncomfortable circumstance as long as we could and basically left, after a few harsh words about lousy table management and poor customer care (why there was a couple at one of the few tables larger enough to accomodate four dinners was never made clear to us- seems they just filled them as the customers came, with no concern for reservations). Nearly ruined what was supposed to be a celebratory night out. Fortunately a crowded mexican restaurant a few doors down went out of their way to fit us in and in the end we found a really good place with great food and excellent service to save the night and return to for future meals. Too bad Picante didn't care as much for someone who actually made a reservation; we are not up for giving them another chance. - L. Houston
