Welcoming our best friends from Virginia at Pilot was a fantastic experience. The vintage boat on Pier 6 offered a charming setting, and the seafood, especially the oysters, was a hit. With a variety of wines and cocktails to choose from, we enjoyed a delightful evening. The added bonus of a downtown Manhattan view enhanced the overall atmosphere.Just a heads up for friends prone to seasickness - the boat's gentle sway is part of the adventure. Pilot is more than a bar; it's a perfect blend of good company, delicious food, and a unique maritime experience.

Pilot is a very special restaurant as it is located on a retired sailing boat tied to Brooklyn’s Pier 6. You dine on deck with wonderful views of Manhattan‘s southern tip, and the Pier 11/Wall St ferry port. We came by ferry, the ride itself being a nice experience. The restaurant is specialized in oysters - you can choose between a variety of different oysters, but also different starters, mains, and desserts. While the oysters were amazing, we found food to be rather bland and uninspired. Service was ok, but could have been more attentive and friendly. It seems that the restaurant mainly benefits from its unusual venue and location…In hindsight, we would only have come for a drink and some oysters before heading off to another place for dinner.

Really beautiful view, lovely to eat on deck. Some of the food was great (fresh and clean oysters, nice pickled veg. assortment, well-cooled trout filet). The chowder was served still very cold in the center. Drinks were OK. The hostess was welcoming and helpful. Oysters preparers were happily chatting with us as they worked. Servers were nice but not around much- they had a lot of area to cover. It's not cheap (almost $50 for a dozen oysters). But, eating topside on a small clipper ship with a view of downtown Manhattan is hard to beat!

Can't beat the atmosphere: a beautifully modified wood sail boat bobbing along the East River just across from the Southern tip of Manhattan. Great sunset views. The food was fantastic: delicious oysters, amazing lobster roll and the scallops were perfect. Service was polite and attentive.

What a unique place to be having food and drinks!!The weather was perfect the day we went but might be more challenging during rainy or windy times. We ordered a couple of bottles of wine and discovered that it's tap served. So you could actually try before making up your mind. Scallops could have been better seasoned but the aïoli that they serve with fries goes well with scallops too. Lobster roll was tasty. Get the fries if you think you might be still hungry. Service was a bit slow but we didn't care since we had our wine and loved the rocking of the boat. Great views of the lower manhattan!

Pilot is truly a unique dining experience. The classic sailboat that houses this restaurant is full of charm and character. The view of lower Manhattan is unbeatable and a lot of fun to watch as you enjoy dinner. The food is fantastic but the entrée portions are rather small. The service is friendly and fast but not at the level you would expect for a restaurant like this.I look forward to enjoying a meal here again soon.

I enjoy this place for brunch very much, it’s literally located on a boat so if aware if you can get seasick easily! Everything I got was amazing, the oysters were small but sweet and flavorful. The crudo sea beam was very appetizing and refreshing because of it’s citrusy taste along with some herb and tomatillo. The hash browns was well cooked and just perfect and you can pair with the steelhead caviar, sour cream and pickled onions and transcend the flavor to the next level. The lobster roll was buttery and surprising with a generous amount of lobster! I added the leftover caviar on top of it and it’s full of seafood umami flavor. At the end, I had the key lime mousse and the gateau, and the gateau was a delicious crumbly chocolaty cake/cookie mixture, I couldn’t finish it because I was too full but I wish I could have.

Amazing place and great experience at pilot, the view is outstanding during the sunset. Be aware that the boat is rocking especially when sitting on the sides.

I am obsessed with Pilot, I highly recommend this place! The boat has a great atmosphere to it and there are amazing views of Brooklyn + Lower Manhattan, regardless of where you sit. The food is incredible, the cocktails are delicious, and the staff are SO kind (Hannah took great care of our group)! I can't wait to return here, the vibes are immaculate and I will definitely be back!

I took myself for a date to this incredible restaurant last weekend. The best part about eating solo is not having to share. Is that the worst part? Either way, I enjoyed every single bite. Even though I didn't have a reservation. ,they were kind enough to accomodate me at the perfect table with the most perfect view.. literally! All of the staff, from the hostess to the bartenders to the servers were all extremely friendly and hospitable. Food wise, I ordered the Polpette (Sirloin and brisket meatballs with tomato compote and basil garlic toast), Sea-Scallops (Seared dayboat-scallops with sweet-corn succotash and coriander emulsion) and also... the french fries. Of the three, the meatballs was certainly my favorite however each really held their own.. and yes, even the french fries! I washed it all down with a delicious ice-cold Sundae draft.I can't wait to come back, perhaps with a friend or date. In the meantime, I have fond memories with myself here to look back on. 5/5!

Foods great drinks are great, surprisingly easy to get a table on a summer Saturday. Views are amazing and obviously it’s a little expensive because of that. Idk why I thought I wouldn’t feel the rocking of the boat that bad but it was a windy day with big waves and felt decently seasick so just a warning on that.
