I have ordered from this restaurant numerous times and I always get a spinach pie and lemon soup, today I went into the restaurant and ordered my usual. When I finally ate my food I noticed the pita bread that came with the soup was very stale and the $5 lemon soup had a baby cockaroach floating on the top of the soup. I was immediately disgusted and threw it away. It would be a waste of my time to go back and show them so I decided a review would be best. Be aware bayridge this place isn't the cleanest amd the kitchen is just as bad. Never going there again!!!
I have been getting gyros here for almost 30 years and no place else can ever compare to them. Living in Brooklyn my whole life I would get take out a few times a month and since moving to New Jersey 17 years ago I still always stop by to pick up my favorite gyros whenever I am in town. The hummus and babaganosh is simply amazing and the woman who works there has been there forever and is as kind as can be. This little restaurant is a gem.
Easily one of the best old school New York eateries with great Gyros
I’ve been going to this place for 15 years now. My go to if I’m in the area. Love the gyro!!!!
This Greek restaurant has been at this location for what it seems like forever. Not much has been changed to the decor. The food is good and reasonably priced. I like the chicken souvlaki, the flame grilled burgers and lemon potatoes. I plan to try some of their other specialties in the near future.
Being Greek I can be a bit particular about eating out at Greek restaurants. I always make aspecial trip to Plaka when I am in Brooklyn visiting relatives. The lentil soup is some of the best I have ever had. Just add vinegar. Love this place and I love the owner. She is charming and cooks everything herself.
Best gyro have had in a long time. Super nice staff that work there. Well worth the visit!
A cute little Greek restaurant with good food at low prices! Highly recommend!
Great restaurant! Been going since I was a kid and the prices are basically the same and the food is still great as well. Definitely recommend this spot if you’re in the area.
Don’t know how to leave a review.... Plaka is a neighborhood institution. Super great food ... kinda old eighties decor .... but very nice people.I love the chicken kebab sandwich... I always ask for extra salad and extra tzaziki sauce and they don’t charge me any extra. You literally can’t get better Greek food in Bay Ridge for ANY price ( and their prices are very reasonable and fair)

I now live in Long Island and once in awhile I come to Brooklyn and anytime I do, I stop in this restaurant. Amazing food and service. Vicky makes my daughter and I feel like we visited family. We had hummus, steak bits, and pasiticio (sp?). Everything from the side salad, to pita bread and hummus was perfect portion and delish. If you want good food that tastes home cooked, then you must try them.
