I want to rate Red Hot a 4 or a 5 but they've never really bounced back post-pandemic. This was for many years one of the more reliable Chinese restaurants in the neighborhood. During the height of the pandemic they were a lifeline, but as things returned to normal in the neighborhood, they never really got back to normal. It's purely a takeout business now. There's no indoor dining. Pickup at the restaurant is through sheets of plastic. Etc.This is speculation, but maybe the lack of customer interaction has hurt the quality of the food. Portions seem skimpier, and if you order a meat dish like pepper beef... there seems to be much less beef than before. They're no longer my goto neighborhood Chinese spot.My hope is that they fully reopen again. My experience with other neighborhood restaurants that followed this pattern is that on reopening, regular interaction with customers helps increase quality overall. I hope Red Hot is restored to its former self and will be rooting for it, but until then I'll be looking further afield.

Watch out this place has a c rating and has horrible health violations! DO NOT ORDER! We were oblivious to this travesty for many months!

I got two vegetarian lunch special - general tso’s chicken and fish w black bean sauce. They are really well-seasoned and the vegetables are fresh. The veggie chicken is a bit on the hard side, but the veggie fish is very tender. I ordered and picked up after 10min.

Delicious food and quick delivery. I’ve been ordering from here for 30 years!

Place isn't open for dining inside. Ordered a few things to go. Was in the mood for pepper steak this day! So got it with white rice even though I would've preferred the pan fried rice but there was about a $6 difference in price so opted for the cheaper stuff. The steak was aight.. needed some salt and was a little chewy. Also got some scallion pancakes that were a little soggy and needed to be more crispier. And we got the shrimp lo mein. It was okay. Not bad. Wouldn't come back. Way too many choices of Chinese in NY!

This was my favorite Chinese Takeout restaurant for years. But no more.I don't know if the restaurant changed hands or simply changed the chef, but noting I ordered was good or tasty like the many previous meals I enjoyed. The soup was watery, the shredded beef.. "where is the beef" the string beans were tasteless, and missing from the order were the ever-included Chinese noodles. Sorry to say Goodbye Red Hot Chili.

Website claims to have dine-in and it does not. Wasted my time driving out there because their information is not accurate. As covid fades in our periphery, I am not sure why establishments aren't allowing for indoor dining. Time to catch up with the rest.

See NYC Dept of Health inspection results online at NYC.gov. 9/6/22: SHUT DOWN by DOH with a whopping 79 inspection points. Reopened 9/9/22 with a Grade Pending 20 points. Why gamble?

This was truly the most disappointing, verging on disgusting, Chinese delivery I've ever eaten. I used to love Red Hot. What has happened to this place? General Tzo's was so chewy and overcooked that it was inedible. The fried rice had no life to it at all. The cashew/pea/tofu dish was nearly flavorless. I am nauseous just thinking about it. I know Park Slope is a Chinese food desert, but anyone ordering from here is going to be super upset.

Great!!! Open in spite of the Pandemic!!! Perhaps minimal staff, but who and which Restaurant isn't going through that? THEY DO TAKEOUT ONLY AT THE MOMENT - 6/28/2022 - but it's really WORTH it! Food is VERY, very good!!! Wholesome, hot, not lukewarm in temperature (like some other place I've been to) and you can tell everything is fresh. Delicious (to die for!) BBQ Spare Ribs. (And t. God, they don't play "games" with the BBQ Spare Ribs price - it's one price and no big and small portions to confuse you about the price). Also, I really enjoy their Shrimp Fried Rice, a LOT!!! They are NOT stingy or cheap with the shrimp, like a lot of other places. They're honest and with the shrimp from the fried rice you can just "pop" it with your teeth -- Sooo fresh!!! I guess you've figured I LIKE their cooking. So if you happen to want to eat outside in this Gorgeous weather, and you like Chinese food (who doesn't?) take a gander over to Red Hot II and let them serve you a nice piping hot "To-Go" order to sit under the sun and contemplate how great Life is!

Food is always super quick, and solid. I’ve had a wide variety of items and enjoyed them all! My go to Chinese takeout spot in the neighborhood :)

Hands down - best General Tso chicken I've ever had. Fresh, hot, perfectly sweet and spicy. Also got the beef & broccoli... bangin'. Wonton soup *chef's kiss*. Get you some! Service was friendly and fast. I will most definitely be back.
