I’ll start with the good. Exceptionally wonderful staff and beautiful ambience and good atmosphere. However, the food quality is not justifying the exorbitant price. They also push for a tasting menu that’s interesting but nothing exceptional. If you want a fun experience and want to splurge, it’s nice. But for a good meal for your buck you’re better off anywhere else.

Therefore, I'd like to preface the review below by sharing a few important details. The tasting menu is for foodies. If you are not a foodie, you will NOT enjoy the tasting menu. You will leave hungry and agitated because of the price. Ren is VERY expensive. If you are not a foodie, your enjoyment will be the location/service and ambiance. But you don't need to go to Ren for that. My suggestion to Ren, if they want to start making money, is to offer a non-foodie menu. Your location and space is amazing. Your chef is very talented. Widen the offerings and the people will come. Even a foodie like me won't go back for the tasting menu. I did it. No reason to have it again, unlike the steak at Le Marais that I can eat twice a month and never get sick of (in theory, obviously). My initial review, again, unedited: Five stars all around. Chef is amazing. So go. Try it out. Now for some details. I have to go back and try the prefix menu. The tasting menu was out of this world. We went for my 50th birthday, so it was special and we paid knowing that. If you are going out for a regular meal, ask the prices first. They are much higher than you’d expect. However, the quality is also much higher. So you are truly getting what you pay for. The tasting is a kosher experience worth trying if you are a foodie. It will blow your mind away like it did ours. Took many hours for the different tastes we had in our mouths to subside! That was wild. Do yourself a favor and get the wine pairing. They know what they are doing at REN. Enjoy!

However, during my recent visit, I was disappointed. I came specifically for the incredible burger I’d been craving, but after being seated and served water, we were informed that REN now only offers a tasting menu—there’s no regular menu, and the cost is $150–$200 per person. Personally, I don’t enjoy tasting menus; I prefer choosing my own dishes. But by that point, we were already seated and it felt awkward to leave.
While the food was good and creative, I wouldn’t opt for the tasting menu again. More importantly, I believe it’s only fair for the restaurant to clearly advertise that a pricey tasting menu is the only option. I noticed several young couples visibly upset after being seated, drinking water, and then learning they’d need to spend $150–$200 per person—with gratuity automatically included. That adds up to around $450 for two people, which is a significant amount for most.
REN, please be more transparent about the tasting menu policy. If I had known in advance, I wouldn’t have come.

Gotta start with GEORGE IS AMAZING…., right off the bat when you walked in we were waiting by the bar for about 10 minutes which I assumed was normal somewhat for a high end restaurant, we then were directed to our seats….it went pretty downhill from there…we were told there was a set menu like a tasting menu and it was all pre determined and it would be a 9 course meal which was ok I guess, all the portion sizes were ridiculously small almost laughable, then by a weird and almost nauseating tasting menu one after another between each course almost a 45 min wait, Steak was great tho but again not even enough on the plate for me to enjoy, I left hungry and went to get food after spending roughly 2500 on the bill….stay away from this please would not recommend unless you are just getting drinks….

The cheese cake was insane the drinks were insane…. The sliver of a steak that my entire table shared was great one steak. MIND YOU I PAID $200 PER PERSON WTHHH!!!! I think you should come here either really full or just don’t come at all there was legit nothing to eat I’m literally going to get something from a burger spot after spending 3.5 hours waiting for every course. I’ll tell you wat we got, first it was bread with dips which was insanely good then they gave us one “cheese” dumpling with some broth… the broth was good the dumpling was meh. Then we got with watermelon salad with like onion and parsley 😡 um ok wasn’t good. Then we got tomato’s with this random cigar that had like burnt tomato paste🤷♀️🤷♀️🤷♀️🤷♀️. Then we got tuna cut up in cubes with no crunchy element like crackers or bread just plain chunks of tuna with sauce. Then we got the steak which was wowwwwww. But then were had the choice of beef tar tar or I guess they legit gave us beats smushed up I think that was not that good. Lastly we got desert and it wasn’t it but they saw we hated it and threw in the cheese cake which saved the night. If you want to eat like a bird come here😂😂😂😂 I really feel like I got scammed and robbed 😭😂
